State of Mame in 2021
Re: State of Mame in 2021
If you can determine the first version to have this issue, that helps in tracking it down. Definitely include that sort of information in any bug reports.

Does anyone happen to know if MAME runs okay on the new(ish) M1 chip from Apple?

I remember initial impressions being quite positive. You can see a few benchmark tests here and here.

There's nothing at all unlikely about it except that they need someone to donate a board and let them poke.arpund with it.slateman wrote:Some useful links about the (un)likelihood of SDOJ getting emulated in MAME.

MAME's team has done far more intensive dumping efforts, goijg as far as recapping ICs and so ng microphotography to get ROM data, not to mention hellish suicide batteries in CPS2 while they were working out that decryption. All this stuff is possible, it just isn't free.
Re: State of Mame in 2021
You're right - but finding that special person is the issue. With only ~350 of the board ever produced and the absurd cost (about $4,000 USD), any owners are understandably hesitant to let people poke around with it. Hopefully it is a relatively-easy process once that PCB gets in the right hands.SF Kosmo wrote:There's nothing at all unlikely about it except that they need someone to donate a board and let them poke.arpund with it.
