DIY phoenix to RCA adaptor for my Extron, wiring question

Hey guys, just a simple wiring question about the adaptors I'm making. In the image below, are the two wirings equivalent? Just figured I'd save a little bit of wire if it's all the same.

As far as I know, that's fine. Ground is going where it needs to be.

These are for inputs correct? Output uses only the middle ground terminal.
