PS2 SC2 stick on Dreamcast

Those two things is getting on my nerves :

PS2 Hori Soul Calibur Stick :


PS -> DC adapter :


The adapter works fine with dual shocks, no lag, it's perfect.
However, with the SC2 Hori stick, every directions and butons act like if auto-fire was ON.
If i hold back direction in Guilty Gears for example, my character keeps dashing. On a shmup, ship scrolling is stuttering.

Could it be fixed if i replace the PCB's stick with one i get from a PS2 pad ?

that adapter is great when it works, which it always had for me. However, unplugging it and other such tomfoolery while the dc is on can cause issues. Mine still works, but it can't detect vmu anymore.

There are warnings on the box so I really should have known better. We're all better off using project boxes anyway.
