Oh. Guys I just bought a fucking Soundtrack!!!. Fans (Yamaha YM2612 + TI SN76489) chipset will be delighted, literally spread in the place where they are when they hear.
For the guys who support us on Patreon there will be a link to download this OST.

In the radio Playlist this soundtrack will get a little later. Maybe next week, but probably next month. The way it will be a mystery for a while. I want to thank the patreon people so they can hear it before the radio goes on.
Don't know about you, but I can already already pre-excited)

A reference to our patreon of course will leave here https://www.patreon.com/shmupradio
We really need your help in supporting and developing this project. In return, we will try to pamper you with such nice bonuses as possible.
Thank you for your attention. Hear. Take care.

You should consider posting your Patreon link on the piracy subreddit on reddit. Someone did try to post your site on the shmup subreddit there, but it was taken down for being "piracy"...

Re: Shoot'em Up Radio \ Shmup Radio

Post by psyhproject »

Hello everyone! Do you like our radio? If yes, please spend 5 minutes of your time, and I will try to explain you something very important. I don’t know if there is one more radio dedicated to Shmup games which would broadcast 24/7 throughout the world. I tried to search and have not found it. That is exactly what motivated me to create my own radio and start developing it. I am the first listener. I listen to it at home, on my way to work, at work, and also on my back way from work. I listen to it while renovating my apartment or when I go for a walk, when I take a shower and even when I sleep. I am really a fan of this radio. And the more I listen to it the more I like it. I want to develop it further. There is still a lot of work to do because I am eager to provide the best service. And I fond of this work. After all, when I search for material for our radio, I discover much. I am hopeful, that this radio will allow to discover something new not only to me, but also to others.

Music always inspires for more. But a journey of a thousand miles starts with just one step. I am sure that this radio will definitely turn into a big project. For this a miracle is needed. And who performs a miracle? People do. And that is true. At first it was just a radio that transmitted a stream of data to an audio player using a connection link to the broadcast server. As soon as this basic functionality was implemented, I created a group in a social network and told people - Hey, I created a radio station dedicated to shmup games, join me! The funny thing is that in Russia very few people are interested in shmup games. What did I count on? I do not know. I just wanted to share my radio. I personally love shmup. Shmup lovers... We are a dying breed of gamers. We are like dinosaurs in modern megacities. We are an anomaly which should not be among all those 8k graphic-super-mega Blockbusters. But still we are.

We love shmups, we love arcade, dynamic gameplay. We love this whole Japanese culture of arcade disciplines. We love the music of these games, so we also need this radio. Afterall, people started to join the group, though not that actively of course, but I did not count on a mega-hype. These are shmups, Let hype alone. People began to repost, to make their proposals on playlist development. People began to be interested in this project. Thus, Andreishowed up and said: “Your radio is great. I would like to help your community.” That is how the site arose, which Andrei optimizes for the tasks of the radio station by himself. A small miracle happened out of the blue. I didn't even plan the site. I also cannot fail to mention a wonderful person, known under the nickname Igrolov, who first reposted in his group and told about this project. Also, I would like to thank Cardinal Cardinalych, who helped me a lot in my search of soundtracks. I must mention Nikolai Volkov, who pitched an idea of creating a topic on shmups.system11.org to reach a foreign audience. Also, following his advice, now the radio has its own twitter where we publish updates for our foreign audience. By the way, foreign listeners themselves asked for it in one of their tweets. I am sure, that there will be more people who will offer interesting ideas or say “Hey, how can I help this project?”.

Why am I saying all this? Because everyone can contribute to the project development. It is not necessary to be a blogger, a web designer, a sound engineer, a programmer, a system administrator, or like a shmup-encyclopedia ready to inform me about what and where Ihave missed and what needs to be added to the radio. Although, such assistance would certainly be very useful.
You can help right now, without spending a lot of time and making huge efforts.

The project currently faces 3 problems that shall be addressed first.
1. Our broadcasting software does not work stable(Sometimes the volume level misfunctions).
2. Periodic power outage in the room where the broadcasting server is located. Our site works because it is hosted in another place, but the player cannot play music since it does not receive data from the server. As a result, our listeners can find only silence on the air, and all attempts to listen to through the audio player via the link lead to connection errors.
3. Monthly hosting payments. No payments - no website. For the time being Andrei covers these costs at his own expense.

The first two problems can be easily solved by transiting to cloud broadcasting. I found a good and affordable tariff that can solve our problems.
https://www.radioboss.fm/plans/

So far, we can use Large tariff:
50 GB of data storage. Currently, a radio library takesalmost 30 gigabytes, it is a bit more than half of the space offered by the tariff. There still will be enough space to add music to the library, approximately for 4000-5000 tracks. Even if we exceed the limit of 50 GB, the next tariff,Xlarge, will be only $15 more, and we will get 100 GB of space and 15 TB for broadcasting. This is plenty of space to continue and develop.

8 TB for broadcasting: that should be enough to meet our needs.
Unlimited number of listeners means no headache in this question.
4 streams of broadcasting: any type of quality – for the time being we use 3 streams. (128, 256 and 320kbps). Optionally, 96 more can be created for those who are at an economy tariff.
It does not sound scary, is not it? Only 30 dollars a month will immediately solve two of our biggest problems and help us, regardless of our financial situation, to high-quality broadcast 24/7.

3. The problem of hosting payments. Just 20 dollars a month are needed to pay for hosting of our site. This will allow to implement a stable development and site support, regardless of Andrey’s financial situation.
We plan to develop it and add various interesting shup-thematic services. I would like Andrei not to pay for everything by only himself. Let's help him at least with the hosting payments.

Let's summarize:
For a healthy, high-quality existence and development of our radio, it is needed only $50 a month. ($30 for cloud broadcasting and $20 for site support).

And here I can see two ways:

1. We continue to live with those problems further and do not invest in our project.
We just continue to get frustrated when the radio is offline,or the volume is unstable and cherish hopes for the better situation.

2. We all together solve problems and develop the project to make it great, but in this case the community support is simply vital. Since constant cash investments is a must for stable development. It is easier to reach it unitedly.

If you are not indifferent to the fate of this project, would like to participate in its development, and somehow to support it, you have an opportunity now. Purposefully for this, we have created a platform on Patreon. https://www.patreon.com/shmupradio
Who does not know Patreon – this is a resource to support various projects. Through Patreon platform, you can easily help our radio to continue and develop.

There are 3 ways to help: 2.5 and 10 dollars a month (see details at https://www.patreon.com/shmupradio). Believe me, any help is appreciated and needed. This will make us confident that we will be able to pay hosting costs for high-quality and stable operation of our radio on an ongoing basis.
Even 130 rubles a month will help to make our project better. If you reach a certain number of Patreon subscribers with minimum contributions, then a solid basis for the project development will be created. This will enable further development.

As I have said before, you do not have to be a super specialist; every interested person can help the project.

If you have suggestions pertaining to the project development, please contact us, we will review every message and letter.

Let me remind the main idea. Do you want a miracle? Perform it yourself. Make a miracle, guys! Do good to this world. Together we can achieve amazing results. Believeit. Together we can grow into a big and interesting project.

Thank you for your attention. We will hear each other on Shmup Radio waves. Play shmup games and be with us.

May the Shmup force be with you!

Re: Shoot'em Up Radio \ Shmup Radio

Post by psyhproject »

Since the beginning of July, the playlist of the radio station has increased by more than 2,300 tracks. The total volume of the library is currently 8605 tracks. This is 332 hours 38 minutes and 52 seconds of shmups music.

We continue to grow. During this time, a news section, articles and interviews with composers appeared in the group. Two thematic programs "High Score" "Power UP" started.

In the summer, we quietly moved to an international domain and a new site that allows you to navigate through it, read articles without interrupting the sound of your favorite tracks. ShmupRadio.com has multi-language support, a blog section with articles, and a section with recordings of our podcasts. Most recently, communities were created on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/ShmupRadio and Twitter https://twitter.com/shmupradio. Subscribe to learn about all the events happening on the radio.

This month, thanks to the support of Patreon subscribers, we will acquire a licensed radio software - this will allow us to get rid of some of the technical problems associated with broadcasting.

The plans include adding speech to broadcasts, publishing new translations and developing an application for mobile devices. And we continue to establish contacts with developers and authors, which means new exclusives are waiting for you.

On behalf of ShmupRadio, we thank everyone who supports this project. Thank you for listening to the radio, squeezing hearts and commenting on posts. Recommend us to your friends, help fill out playlist content, support us on Patreon and just stay with us.
