I don't enjoy playing it myself, but I can definitely see the appeal of Donkey Kong. It's not just a "museum piece". There's a subtle brilliance to some of the methodic and tactical action especially on the rivet stage. And like I mentioned earlier, seeing the top players push every available point out of the barrel stage is definitely interesting. The constant control of entirely RNG created patterns is just incredibly unique.

The game has its stinkers. The random point amount for smashing blue barrels is just straight up bad, and honestly if you ask me, the elevator stage can go entirely. But there's a reason people are still competing in this game. It has a high skill ceiling, and a lot of interesting variables.

What's your opinion of DK3? Plays more like the Game and Watch Greenhouse than the first two and can be quite mean at times. Constantly spraying DK can be tedious at times and power ups don't respawn right away without dying.

Edit: Ok, watched the vid. tl;dw he used an 8-way stick (which very obviously stood out in recently retrieved photos) instead of a 4-way stick. The 8-way stick allows you to do stuff you wouldn't otherwise be able to do. And the same cabinet was used for both of his "le totally legit world records xD". Not original DK arcade hardware. Oops.

It seems like a weak angle to go at Billy, a man who no doubt knows how to handle a donkey chode.

Even if you could prove it's an 8 way he could plead ignorance and just say well I was at a live event. A TG rep looked over the cab and told me it was good to go. I didn't notice anything odd in the heat of the moment etc.

It's hardly the smoking gun for an all out character assassination and kick to the chode that will bring Billy down for good like Karl seems to be making it out as. For that you need to show that he knowingly cheated and lied which is almost impossible.
