In my area the smaller the harder to come by. Even a few years ago I rarely ever saw 13 inches sets for more than a few minutes listed. Those would get picked up immediately.

I love both 20 (often 21) and 24 (or 25) the best. If I had to pick I actually prefer 21 because the picture size is ideal for a single player playing from a chair (25 does force me to move a bit further back than I'd want). However while 21 can work for two players, 24~25 is the optimal size for that setup. Can't go wrong with either of those mid size crt's imo.

My complaint was mostly because I tested with Outrun 2 / 2006, which is a game I'm deeply familiar with on my OSSC and other CRTs, and none have this black crush.

I never see 24", is that a non-European or non-Sony size?

I really hope I can find another 25" late 90s Trinitron that is in better condition than mine.

My pet theory is that unfortunately most smaller screens have already been thrown away :( It's so easy to chuck a 14" in the trash and anything <25" can be carried by your grandson. I see 32" Sonys available everywhere, probably because you need at least two strong people to carry it down the stairs and retrogamers usually don't want 16:9/100Hz/Digital/HD sets.

I don't think you guys have 24'' Trinitrons in Europe. But we do have some in NA, particularly in the latter WEGA era Trinis(don't recall them showing up before then).

I have a 25'' Sony buy it's a prosumer model. And of course there's the PVM-2530.

Too bad, 24" would seem perfect for me. I don't even think if we got WEGA branded CRTs? Every time I do a search for that term I just get early generation LCDs.

In the US the later Sony's that were branded 20 and 24 were in reality exactly 21 for the 20 inch versions, and often 24.5 to 25 inch on the 24 ones I believe.

TVs with 59cm CRTs are 25" in Europe (e.g. Sony KV-X25TD). These would have been 23" in the US but this size was not used over there (no Sony KV-23...). Later Sony started using 60cm CRTs both in Europe and the US and these were marketed as 25" in Europe (e.g. KV-25FX30E) and 24" in the US (e.g. KV-24FS120).

EDIT: You're right, 24 inch seems to measure at 61 cm on a later Sony. So I guess they were appropriately labeled when given the 24 inch naming. The 20 inch models are at 53cm and a third, or 21 inches exactly. The gap in the mid range is smaller than I thought.

Nobody markets a TV as 23.5". Inches are always rounded up or down and sometimes 1cm = 1".

I don't have any any more on hand but I believe some 13 inch models were also rounded down and in reality were closer to 14 inches, from what I remember anyway.
