"a hack" as in a cheater, right? not sure how it's impressive other than making folks wanna barf with the screen scroll.

Thank you, Mills! :) Since then, I have a much better Gunbird 2 2-ALL that I have gotten earlier today that I wanted to share with you and everyone here! :D Here it is:

Gunbird 2 - 2-ALL 4,205,300 Tavia No Miss, 1 Bomb【ガンバード2 】タビア 2周ノーミス1ボム

Incidentally, this run makes me the new community record holder in Gunbird 2 in the Tavia category. :D It also doubles as making me the new overall community record holder in Gunbird 2! It's also my 1st time ever holding an arcade community record here in Shmups Forum! :)

Because regular YouTube viewers only pay attention to the visual content and and don't care how it's done.

SideLine, 1cc up to Loop 3, Stage 7: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OTDPvPCka4

Finally got around to uploading this. I was pretty exhausted by the time I got into Loop 3. The difficulty's nuts at that point, and although clearing Loop 3 woulda been fun, I'm frankly shocked at how far I got! So far I've found there's four 1UP items to be found per loop, so that's helped out a lot with survival, since you can build up resources for the nastier stages. But you still gotta be careful because it's easy to take several deaths in a row if you get complacent when your shields drop.

I just posted a side by side longplay of Thunder Force V for the Saturn and PS1. Should be useful for people that want to see the visual differences next to each other. Link: https://youtu.be/1iSzrOqqnMo

I wasn't positive, but watching another video (forgot which) on that channel I wanted to ask the channel owner if they were TAS.

Nothing wrong if he would just label it as such, if not...

It's a shame that cheaters don't make the effort to make the replay runs look good.

I would rather they not "cheat", if that's what you'd call TAS that doesnt mark them as such. People who don't know any better find videos like this guys and use it as reference for strategy or to route/improve. It also craps on the people the can actually do the clears/scores without TAS, since this person gets credit/views over someone who put in all the hard practice time.

Can anything be done about channels like this that mis-respresent the videos they upload?

Nope. Just have to spread the word and leave comments letting future viewers know the runs aren't legit.

I uploaded a Soukyugurentai run with commentary (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZ5IlEHBJuY). I am thinking of doing more videos likes this, so happy to get any constructive feedback.

While I share your distaste, I can't see anyone picking up that many bad habits from that video. He takes dumb risks threading through bullet patterns that a noob would never try. He goes after every last popcorn enemy, but completely ignores the score multiplier on the gold bars. Anyone playing for score who can count will figure out not to do that long before they ever get close to a 1cc.

To me the biggest giveaway that it's TAS is he nails every enemy as they appear, but still spends the entire time hugging the bottom of the playfield dodging bullets. That's not a sign of someone who knows a stage. That might be the one thing I can see someone who didn't know any better copying.

Rewatching this makes me think this GI Joe clear was one of my favourites, if only because of all the dank memes in the chat. Too lazy to use mic, fast typing between stages is the ultimate shmup talent. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/519951735

It's been a while since I've played the Raiden Fighters series, but here's
Raiden Fighters 1 with Judge Spear, the fastest ship besides the Slave:

Viper Phase 1 would be way more fun to play if it moved this fast.

Impressive run to reach last stage before losing lives. Judge spear hitbox is so big for the bullet hell. Even worst on RF Jet

Oh, absolutely. I played Viper Phase 1 long time ago, and Judge Spear moves so slow in that game compared to its RF counterpart.
Plus, using Napalm Missiles in that game wasn't a very viable option because I had to stick with the Wide Vulcan in the whole game.
Judge Spear in Raiden Fighters series is much more fun to play, and using the slaves do make up for its lack of the defensive spread.

If you're into VP1 and Raiden Fighters but wish you could play a "look at all these cool shot types" where the hitbox wasn't so massive, you definitely want to check out Xeno Fighters R. It's basically a Raiden Fighters fangame, except all the exotic shot types are useful since everyone has the same small hitbox (instead of the Slave ship being everyone's apparent fave due to small hitbox in RFJ).
