Destructoid.com posted them in their weekly downloads list. I haven't checked the shop myself yet.

I do not see those two games listed on the NA Eshop at this point in time. Although, XCom 2 is now available.

I checked the US eshop and Darius Cozmic Collection still isn't available. I have the JP standard edition that recently got updated with full English, though. I bought Game Tengoku and Thunder Force AC. System C2 is interesting. Not sure if the slightly faster processor is a real advantage over the stock Genesis hardware since it's missing the Z80 and the sound is processed by the main CPU. I like Game Tengoku's history section. Parts of it are laugh out loud funny.

edit: Some system C2 games have an extra sound chip, uDP7759, which is often used for voice synthesis.

What are some MUST HAVE games on the switch that would be recommended?

I currently own only a PC and the Switch (just got my flip grip!) to play shmups.
It's kinda hard to choose right now considering that Steam is way cheaper for me than the e-shop. What I currently have on the switch is:
Shikondo, Darius Cozmic Collection (both), Ghost Blade HD, Anger Force Reloaded, Vasara Collection, Ikaruga.

I'm dying to get ESP Ra. De. but it's kinda out of my reach for the time being.

For more modern-ish games I like the Jamestown port quite a bit. Sisters Royale is decent.

There's R-Type Dimensions which might be nice if you've never played those games before. Beware though it is a re-creation not an emulation and there are inaccuracies that can mess up routes. At least it was that way with the 360/PS3 version. But inaccuracies and odd behaviors might not matter to you if you haven't played the originals and this version has some really nice features.

Then there's tons of classic emulated games, but those might be better on PC with save states and such.

Thanks!
I'll probably get Sisters Royale as I can't get it on steam. Jamestown and R-Type are going to my steam wishlist!

Rolling Gunner on the Switch is an absolute must have, closest to a Cave game you'll get on the system.

Even closer than Esprade? :P

Seriously can't wait to try it out though, just waiting for the physical to drop (God knows when it'll finally go into production...)

I think the Switch port of Psyvariar Delta is pretty ace, and outside of Esprade I'd put it up at the top of my favorites list. It's quite cheap nowadays too.

I've been meaning to get around to that! Is Switch or PC better? It sounds like PC might have some extra content that's not on Switch?

The PC version has a new twin stick aiming mode. Personally that doesn't interest me at all. Also I don't think it's exactly easy to get on PC.

I would say Sisters Royale is a must-have, it's just so much fun.
Psikyo Alpha and Bravo (with preference towards bravo)*
If your willing to do imports, Radirgy S

*These are currently $10 off in the Nintendo e-shop

Nice! ININ publishing makes sense, seems like they have a partnership of some kind with Strictly Limited.

Namco's FC collections are now on Switch, and include some shmups. US/EU V1 has Xevious. Galaxian, Sky Kid, and Dragon Spirit, V2 has Galaga, Super Xevious, and a newly ported version of Gaplus. The JP counterpart, Namcot Collection, has a slightly different list for volume 1, a more elaborate presentation, and the ability to purchase games from the eshop.

The first volume of the collection also has an actual NES port of Pac-Man Championship Edition based of a homebrew that was recently taken off youtube. The collections also include a couple a noteworthy games that were made by other developers, Mendel Palace/Quinty (V2 and Namcot V1) and Legacy of the Wizard (v2).

Do we know if the Namcot JPN Collections are multi-language, at least for the menus?
