The first game that I got on AES was KOTM2. I still like it to this day. Still get a weird feeling seeing the World Trade Centre in Cyber-Woo's hands every time.
Gets to be quite unfair in latter stages as bosses wipe out all your credits, it is cheap in places but makes me laugh all the same.

Not heard the NGCD soundtrack for KOTM2 but the MVS/AES is quite good.

First time I saw this being played was on The Games Master in the UK in the early 90s.

Sonic Wings 2 let you wreck the WTC as well. I guess SNK knew something nobody else did. ;)

KotM2 was also one of the first NG games I experienced. And yeah, it is pretty cheap and definitely also high on the jank. They never actually bothered bringing part one to CD, probably because it's too similar while decidedly worse. The soundtrack on is identical with MVS/AES afaik.

Yes, KOTM2 looks a lot nicer than the first game. I like Cyber-Woo as it reminds me of the gorilla of the Zoids.

Pretty funny when playing co-op as you toss the enemy between yourself. Super Geon looks fiendish.

CoreGrafx Mini arrived, and now I have a nice row of Mini consoles all hooked up and ready to play at the touch of a button.

My USA contact sent me my bi yearly package today (I live in the UK).

N2O was in the bottom of the box under the bubble wrap, almost threw it away

Extermination, yay! Still have yet to unbox my PS2s after moving, but for whatever reason I did look at my PS2 collection of games today, the likes of Air Ranger: Rescue Helicopter and, no, I can't seem hope any other console to ever surpass it in my book. Certain things have their particular time and place in our lives.

I recently picked up these two namco controllers called the JogCon and NegCon.

I played Ridge Racer 4 on the PS1 with them and had a great time.

It is proper cool.

Although I'd say I preferred the JogCon, it's force feedback on that wheel is really strong, I had to turn it down !

This actually was find in a bargain bin of a supermarket chain store, like, the lowest-common denominator of all trade. They once threw an "anything goes" selection of cheap CDs out there. I even saw the latest John Coltrane album among them, which I considered buying at full price when it was brand-new (something I don't usually feel about jazz albums, no matter how lauded).

Another CLASS cover by Szaybo, whose very own hand features on the British Steel cover! I find it weird how, of album covers designers, I think only Psygnosis and Roger Dean attained something of a branding.

Oh, and I don't know about disco, but the drumming on Stained Class sounds strangely Cuban to me.

So I only purchased the Ну, погоди! game for PC, and it has arrived with a bunch of nice extras. Once Upon a Time... Life is the show that taught me flu is a viral disease long before I could read.

Yeah, that's my favourite Priest album art for sure, and a great cover altogether. Sublimely easy, cool menace.

Oh hey, cool. :)

That Racketboy article was an adaptation of one I had written for Rolling Start here, that one is focused on the compatible racing games (I wanted to add the non-racing ones to the Racketboy version) and I've added some games to it afterwards, so that could also be worth checking out.

Soberly speaking, it's just about the same as th PS2 one I got way cheaper many a year ago. That being said, I can hardly resist buying a car game this good at least twice. And it works like a charm with a CCP...

I bought a NegCon recently too but have only used it with Arkanoid R 2000, so far. It feels amazing, and I can't wait to try it with Ridge Racer Revolution, since I always felt like I was steering very sub-optimally on the PS1 port, heh. Any idea if you can use the Jogcon as a 'paddle' controller for stuff like Arkanoid, too? It certainly looks the part! :D

Pretty good TV job there, almost BBC quality. Wondering now, is there any opera staging filmed by BBC? There is little known, but pretty lively marketplace for opera on DVD, so I would expect BBC to participate in it.

Then I assume you've kept a soft-modded Wii (or Wii U) and ROMs on external HDD, as well as a CCP or two. Unless modded Switch supports GameCube games already? I wouldn't know such a thing about current gen, the way I feel about it. Still, a modded Wii (or, I suppose, modded first Xbox) is - for anyone who's kept any half-decent CRT SDTV - a thing to be harboured under one's roof.

I'd much prefer a DVD, but couldn't seem to find one for sale. This is one looker of a film to be sure, so I shelled out nonetheless. (An all-too-obvious point of reference is the Kubrick's Barry Lyndon, but I sooner thought The Story of Adèle H. - just as easy on the eye a historical/period flick.)

Ah, cool, thanks for the links, I wasn't aware that the NegCon worked with so many other titles.

I'm legitimately quicker with the JogCon than the NegCon on RR4 but they're wonderfully unique controllers.

This much has to be said, it was chosen, because:

a) I don't feel like borrowing one when I need it anymore, and

b) it was on something of a sale, just, and

c) here's hoping the stock accumulators bundled will fit my Makita job site radio, which is not quite GREAT, sound-wise, but still is a job site radio delivering fair heft of sound and supposed (? we'll see) sturdiness. As well as DAB+ (digital) radio out of thin air, which is not all bad 'round here. Some of it's pretty good.

I also kind of suck for Makita's hardware designs. There, I said it.

For real, though, the radio is so comically overbassed by default that about every male speaker on it sounds like a nineteen-seventies' pornstar. That being said, it also works as a stereo amp & speakers set, and since I normally split stereo sound signal among my three 2.1 sets (thus monophonising the bass), it works a treat as a supplementary bass re-stereophoniser. There's world of discoveries to be made at a relatively low price by amassing such devices.

I picked up a bunch of handheld games. Basically I'm getting ready for the Analogue Pocket to arrive ...if it ever does.

Two Western interpretations of Japanese franchises. Bionic Commando: Elite Forces ist pretty sweet, The Revenge of Shinobi however a real snooze-fest. Maybe it'll improve later in the game but I doubt it...
Still wanna pick up THQ's GBA Altered Beast though, if anyone wants to get rid of theirs.

Now here we have a proper R2RKMF: The Legend of Kage 2
Picked up the EU version in the bargain bin many years ago. I can highly recommend it!

Nice Sonic 2 Remix to go.

Finally, a big Game Gear bundle. Had a bunch of these games as kid, actually. I'm very curious about Coca Cola Kid, as it's supposed to be the best exclusive platformer on the system. Obviously netting Griffin as part of the bundle was a lucky catch.

Some stuff I picked up recently. c:
I'm collecting a lot of stuff I wanted as a kid and things I lost to time. I've wanted an SP for 15 years and these were 5 of the DS games I wanted to have again (that I could afford).
That Final Fantasy was new! Only $20!

Good part is that them "live-bonus-tracks" are pretty good - Tairrie B comes as a stage animal. Nevertheless, I'm not buying anyone's calling it "metal". That's an issue I have with a lot of its time's and age's rock music.

Picked a pair of these up a few months back -

https://www.levyelectric.com/electric-s ... -levy-plus

And then a third cause one of my oldest friends saved me a lot of money on something. He thought the scooters were awesome and this was found money, so buying him one was appropriate.

Learning to take care of and maintain them has been surprisingly easy. I broke the motor controller which is where the battery connects. They sent me a new one which was an easy install.

They're pretty fun. I've tested the range on eco mode (12 mph) and got over 20 miles and still had some battery left. Max speed is 19. That doesn't sound like a lot, but it is actually pretty quick on a scooter. A few weeks back we were riding/dicking around the super rich neighborhood near where he lives. It was like being 17, but a jillion times cooler. Here at home I've been out almost every night here for like an hour.

I think a scooter that goes maybe 25 mph and has a 50/60 mile range would be ideal round here. Even though their only a month old I am already planning my next one:D
My lord, I have come for you.

Yes, THE very same Scott Walker as above. Fucking crazy shit. Also, this is THE Missa Alleluja I craved, rather than Missa Alleluia by Pierre de la Rue, which was, nevertheless, a lucky find - my tolerance to Masses in general stands tall & high.

It was pure sunk cost fallacy that had me sticking by my old X-Arcade Solo for so long, this thing is superior in every way. Like my old NES advantage on Steroids.

Note the included octagonal gate at its side. So technically the stick is $8 cheaper than advertised (good thing I watched an unboxing video!) It was literally a snap to install.

Plugged it in and finally did something I've been wanting to do for over 20 years: play Cho Ren Sha 68K with autofire.

Bought a new computer. core i7 10700K, Nvidia 2070 Super, and 32 gigs of 3200 RAM. I also bought multiple keyboards, some for web browsing on the TV and others like the havit and filco for gaming. I especially like how the filco plugs into the PS/2 port (surprised some computers still have these, good thing it does). I also bought a few different mice with the logitech g-pro hero, the similar logitech 305 wireless, and the benq zowie being my favorites. I also ended up buying a new Asus laptop with more modest specs only 8GB of RAM, 1650ti, and i7 10705H, as well as an ipad mini. I like the membrane keyboard on the laptop. I like those thin keys and it has good rollover (I was able to type the full quick brown fox sentence). Too bad the Ares M1 membrane keyboard that came with the comp was not like that. Very odd rollover (all of the main letters except x, cheap build (plastic yay!), mushy keys, and the bottom keys scrape the space bar.

edit: Forgot to mention that the stand in the picture allows me to tate the monitor. Excellent for shmups. Good thing switch has a headphone jack since the monitor doesn't have speakers. I also bought an Asus monitor with speakers which I put above my SD TV. Both monitors have under a frame of input lag, AFAIK. Freesync, but G-Sync seems to work fine with both. Both are 144Hz, as well. Acer is a TN panel and Asus is an IPS.
