The guy's been pretty open about disliking anime art in general. Another reason why I find it so strange of him to have picked Zelda. He even uses a picture of Link as an example of the kind of art he hates!
I have a confession to make that will probably turn off some of my readers: I hate Japanese animation. Hate it, hate it, hate it. This is nothing against the Japanese. It's not a racial thing. I have known and loved many Japanese people. I just wish they wouldn't try to draw stuff.
These images make my physically ill. Why? I don't know why. It's not like they all look the same, but all of them are incontestably Japanese (in style, not in ethnicity). It's something to do with the eyes, noses, and chins--and definitely the hair. (Are there no short-haired men in Japan?) Maybe it's because anime characters never really look Japanese: they look like Caucasians drawn by people who don't spend much time around Caucasians. Maybe it's the odd agelessness of the characters, so that female figures you're supposed to be attracted to look uncannily like children. Maybe it's just the fact that no one actually looks like this, and yet there's an entire industry devoted to churning out these images. Whatever the cause, thankfully this paragraph is now long enough that the preceding image has been pushed off the top of the screen and I no longer have to look at it.
It doesn't help that at least three of the "Japanese RPGs" he played for his blog were eroge, and that one of those eroge happened to be Rance. You'd think he would have learned to be more careful and take cues from people who know the genre better than he does.

I can almost picture how that one got published:

Fade in - A rural/suburban middle school. 1970's. Little BIL (I know you're younger than me but play along) is sitting in English. Bored. He is given a writing assignment on Great Expectations, but fuck that shit. Little BIL has other ideas as he doodles pictures of bats in the margins. At the end of class a masterpiece of beach fantasy has been written, but young BIL is unaware. As he leaves class he tosses his assignment (CAUSE BIL DON'T HAND THINGS IN) in the trash along with his empty beer can. His teacher notices, retrieves the work, and has it published under a pseudonym.

There's another part where grown BIL learns of the thievery and goes on a murderous rampage. The alternate ending has grown BIL learn of it but instead opts to sue in court.

Also that book is a sequel? Meaning someone actually said - "Hey Jim, The Bats that Kicked My Ass did really well third quarter. I think we should have them pen a second one".

And in my search to find if this was a real book I found this:

And then this:

"Bobby, do you realise everything we men do, no matter how altruistic, is driven by ego and the pursuit of base desires? Like brushing your teeth, getting a good job, a sweet ride, you know?"

"Huh, I guess that's true Larry. But what about Jimmy's big bro Fireman Sam, who got his dick blown off saving that kitten from the dynamite warehouse? Why'd he bust his scrawny ass to become the Fireman Of Legend, when he coulda used his brains to be a scumbag lawyer like his pops?"

"Toxic masculinity, bro. He knew he'd get more ass than a proctologer, if he bulked up and started runnin' into burning buildings. He'd still be rollin' in pussy today, if he hadn't smothered that crate of dynamite with his crotch."

"Ain't he married his girl from Fuckface High soon as they turned eighteen? Five kids, nice house, dog?"

"He woulda been gettin' crazy side-ass with that sweet red firetruck, bro."

"Damn. So Jimmy's bro wasn't a hero for becoming Fireman Sam - he was selfish!"

The following opinion piece was published on CBR.com, which is apparently a comics website. I don't read comics, or watch comic movies! But I do enjoy the steaming pop-cultural effluent that streams off these products, like rivulets of sweat down the sculpted backs of fit young fellows in full bumming rut, as flabby manbabies with media studies BAs seek Serious Adulthood via their insights of fictional fit men, and the merely implicitly homoerotic antics thereof.

Here is the URL of the article what they done shat out: Steve Rogers Was Selfish For Becoming Captain America. As you can see, they got embarrassed and deleted it! Perhaps publishing on Remembrance Day was a step too edgy? They even replaced it with an arse-licking paean to (fictional) dead soldiers! Either way, it was remarkably Serious Adult stuff, the author positively generous in the sharing of his earnest puerility.

But now, only the screechings of Youtube testify to its existence. Image This one chick went full sperg on it! "UR INSULTING MUH MILITARY FAMILY!" Calm down, dear! Fortunately, she is hot, as befits the daughter of a disciplined household, so I muted the video and watched her dainty little mouth move as she huffed and puffed. Image Image She is a talented artist, too, judging by her VAMPIRELLA reboot! Cute and girlish, very unlike the massive porno tits & ass I recall of the character's 90s iteration!

But I will not be giving these clowns your precious clicks, fellow Hard Gaymers. Image IDGAF about their outrage, feigned or not - it is the ham-handed faux gravitas of the work itself that compelled me to smile, and warranted its mention in this storied thread. Therefore, I have preserved the text below for unaccompanied perusal. I swear to Christ, Gaymers, I am not shitting you - this is truly the professional standard of funnybook editorialising in our time.

Steve Rogers Wasn't a Hero for Becoming Captain America - He Was Selfish

While he's Marvel's golden boy, Steve Rogers deciding to be Captain America was based on his own selfish desires. Captain America is one of the most important characters in Marvel history, and without him, many of the great stories of the Marvel universe would not happen or wouldn’t be the same. He is central to the entire framework of Marvel’s storytelling, and Captain America is emblematic of justice, honesty and perseverance, making him the ultimate culmination of the American ideal; however, the decision for Steve Rogers to become Captain America is inherently selfish.

Steve was rejected from the military due to his small stature and health issues, but then his life changes when he is invited to join the super soldier program, which is how he becomes Captain America. However, when removing the context of what he would become, the decision is selfish. Rather than contribute in the ways best suited to him, Steve chooses to go under experimental treatments to artificially enhance himself. Steve’s choice to become Captain America is rooted in a fetishization of the hyper-masculine rather than an innate desire to do good for his country.

More Than A Soldier

This is a bold claim against America’s golden boy, yet the context matters. Steve is initially someone unfit to serve on the frontlines. It is tough and hurtful, but it is the reality of the situation. If his concern was truly how he could best serve his country, he would accept his station in life and make the most of it. He could have tried becoming a merchant marine, train as an officer or stay home and help with the production of war-time materials. All of these could contribute to the war like Steve supposedly wants to do, but that isn't good enough. Steve, in his eyes, has to be on the front lines. It’s understandable for a young man to want to prove himself to his peers and country, yet even if deep down his intentions are altruistic, the steps he takes to pursue those instincts are selfish. In Steve’s mind, there is only one way to contribute to the war, and that just happens to be the way he wants to contribute.

Altruism’s Ugly Side

Captain America is known for his altruism and his willingness to sacrifice everything for what he believes to be right, yet there is something selfish within that because Cap’s altruism is in what he believes and nothing else. Cap will fight against anyone who opposes his worldview, including his friends. Just look at the catastrophic violence that breaks out in the Civil War comic arc as well as its accompanying film. These events happen because Cap is uncompromising, and nothing will shake his worldview. "The requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences," Cap says in The Amazing Spider-Man: Civil War, story by J. Michael Straczynski and art by Ron Garney. "When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world -- 'No, YOU move.'"

This quote would also be adapted in the film, with Sharon Carter saying it and inspiring Cap to stand his ground in regards to the Sokovia Accords. This quote also highlights Cap’s tendency respond to things with violence. In fact, Cap is an impulsive person, and his first response to opposition is to beat it down. These aggressive impulses are hidden beneath a veneer of tough American grit and freedom fighting.

The Beautiful Side Of Selfishness

This may seem like a condemnation, but it's not. After all, not everything Cap does is selfish, and not everything selfish he does is bad. If Cap hadn’t entered the super soldier program, there would have been no one to defeat the Red Skull during World War II. His unwavering commitment to freedom and privacy is also what uncovers Hydra's plot to take over SHIELD in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In Avengers: Endgame, it is also his instinct for aggression and desire for revenge that leads the remaining Avengers to hunt down Thanos and ultimately kill him. No one would argue these outcomes are bad; however, the underlying motive behind them isn’t as black and white as it may seem.

The Importance Of Reflection

Psycho-analyzing a comic book character may seem trite, but there are good reasons to do so. For one, it makes Captain America more human. He is a fictional character, but he is also an important icon for many people, and he's the golden standard many fans want to live up to. Humanizing him may take the veneer away, but it makes the character, his actions and his consequences more real. It also helps readers and moviegoers better understand Steve Rogers, in and out of the Captain America uniform, as a character.

I felt kinda bad after seeing SUFPIFIOUSLY EFFNIC names in the staff, and wondered if the guy might be ESL. I reserve a certain respect for those who learned my one and only language! Because I sure as shit can't be arsed with learning anyone else's!

However it seems he's just a random dumbass, and even obvious hateclick-bait reads like mediocre sixth-form dogshit, nowadays.

A bit of classic ventrilo harassment from back in the day. Wasn't expecting much, having found this stuff only mildly amusing BITD, but I was dying by the end, especially the Rocky sequence. First two minutes are nothing special but it sets up the rest.
