Rising Star Games to Publish Two Quality Shooters from Japanese Developer QUTE
Written on 27 February 2020.
Two Quality Shooters from Japan is heading to the west!
Rising Star Games, the Home of Japanese Games, has teamed up with Japanese developer QUTE to release two of its highly entertaining shoot ‘em up titles, Ginga Force and Natsuki Chronicles. Prepare to learn, dodge, and shoot your way through both games as they are coming to Steam and PlayStation 4 later this year.
Ginga Force is a vertical style shmup with multiple game modes including Story and Score Attack while Natsuki Chronicles is a side-scrolling shooter that shares its setting with Ginga Force even though it has its own unique characters. Natsuki Chronicles also features both an exciting campaign in Chronicles Mode and comes with an Arcade Mode for those who enjoy the thrill of going after a new high score. And you can show off your skills on both games via the online leaderboards.
“Ginga Force and Natsuki Chronicles are both projects we placed a lot of effort into and we’re excited for the western release of both games.” said Takeshi Osako, President of QUTE Corporation. “STGs are a special genre with a passionate fanbase and we’re excited to be working with Rising Star Games to reach an even broader audience with these two great shooters.”
Both Ginga Force and Natsuki Chronicles will be playable this week on the show floor at PAX East 2020. Please stop by our booth #26017 to play or reach out to us directly to schedule a time to see both games.
Link contains press kits for both games. No word on exact release dates yet, but Steam pages say 2020:
A decade overdue, but exciting nonetheless! It's great to get these exclusives off of a long-dead console (and a slightly dead one) and on to PC. I've been wanting to try Ginga Force for a long time.
And finally, xxx1993 will have all the answers about the games' deep lore he seeks, and can stop asking everyone non-stop. Who am I kidding. That will still happen.

Ginga Force is a real treat. I was surprised at how deep it was and how much I enjoyed it. Natsuki is good too. This is good news all around.
Finally, Ginga Force gets a PC release (oh, and PS4 too), but hey, Natsuki Chronicles getting ported to other systems was probably to be expected, considering how long it took to be released.
The holy trinity of Qute is now all in one package! (On PC at least, when they're all out.)
You know, when Natsuki Chronicles came out I was thinking "I really wish I had a way to play Ginga Force on current hardware". Really happy to hear this, and I'm definitely buying both when they're out on PC.
Just checked them both out. Don't like the 3d "plastic" looking graphics. Reminds me of Raiden 5. Give me a nice , detailed 2d sprite based graphic style .
I know how you feel - I love Eschatos, however that's despite what I consider to be lackluster graphics. If the gameplay for Qute games looks appealing to you at all, I really doubt the graphics will affect you once you get into the groove. Besides, I feel Natsuki Chronicles is a genuinely pleasing game to the eyes when compared to Eschatos.
I think Eschatos looks fine once you play the game instead of looking at screenshots. Ginga Force looks nice too. Actually, i would always get comments about Eschatos like "wow, this looks way better than your other shooters!" Those were from people who thought Deathsmiles "looked like a Saturn game," but still. Eschatos is some genuinely stirring stuff with some great visual design. Ginga Force is a real step for the genre, and if it were made "back then" people would still be singing its holy praises, Radiant Silvergun style.

Finally? It's only been out for 2 months And also, these might not be released on PC and PS4 until the end of 2020, for all anyone knows
As long as it's not published by DispatchGames (which it's not, thank God), I can reasonably hope to play these games within a year on a platform I do own.
I have’nt post in the forums for quite a long time
Anyway these are good news indeed to see Qute games in other platforms rather than being xbox only.
On a side note I hope this open the door for a switch version on both games.
Just picked up Ginga Force on Steam. Although shmups with 3D graphics don't usually look that great to me, utilizing the graphics options on this version (specifically AF and FXAA) really helps the details a lot. Especially when compared to the X360 version, which I bought a couple years ago but just never got around to playing seriously.
Yeah, it seems spot-on so far. I have a minor issue, though; I can run the game at 60hz in any resolution other than the highest one (my native res of 1920x1080), which caps at 59hz. Any idea what that's about?
