I hooked everything up to my (older) SHARP HDTV and there was no problem. Display mode says 480i but looks great.

RE: I'm wondering if my Samsung TV is missing components that my SHARP TV uses to filter out excess power on signal lines. Maybe I need to order some capacitors for my cable?

My (newer) Samsung sets the display mode at 720x240p but has those faint yellow bars that are noticeable with darker colors on screen.

I'm just going to mention it because I really love my old SHARP AQUOS and I'd still be using it today if not for one problem. When you turn it on, everything works great and looks amazing. The problem is, when you power it off and then back on again - it gets distorted vertical lines on one half of the screen. I replaced the power supply board but that didn't fix the issue. I used to leave it on for months at a time (not a great solution) but it worked. Then if the power got interrupted, I would get the stupid lines again. I could usually get the lines to go away by cycling the power ON/OFF multiple times. Until one time it got so bad I had to go buy this new Samsung TV lol

I know this is an old thread, but was it ever tested connecting C-Sync to the V-Sync (only, leaving H-Sync alone) of the transcoder's input?

Just a heads ups, one on eBay at the moment!

https://www.ebay.com/itm/202893032467?ul_noapp=true

The guy's sending offers, so the price isn't super firm.

I HIGHLY suggest just getting a Linuxbot3000 (Jam's shit has been improving a lot this past year), but these are getting hard to come by :'(

There was a Key Digital up the other day, forget if it's still posted. Never tried that one, dunno if it's as well revered?

Really solid box, still using the same one I was using ~5 years ago when I posted earlier in this thread. I use it to put my DC onto my 51" plasma and it does a fantastic job.

Is the 9a60 regarded as the best rgbhv to component transcoder?

And does it use a 2.1mm or 2.5mm DC plug?

I've only compared the Retrotek to the Audio Authority 9A60, but of the two the Audio Authority was the better one.

AA products are some of the finest engineered A/V products you can get, IMO.

Sorry I'm two years late answering this, but yeah, the 9a60 takes c-sync on it's v-sync input, no need to hook up h-sync. Currently doing this with my CRT Emu Driver PC.

Of course, CRT Emu Driver and most other devices will ouput c-sync on the h-sync pin, so you have to find a way to switch h to v for the 9A60. I currently do this with two BNC breakouts in series, but I'll probably dissect a VGA cable at some point and reroute the signal

Ben! How are you man? Yeah I heard that CRT Emu Driver could do something like that but never tried it. Does it work with only certain GPUs?

The Linuxbot3000 one on eBay is really nice (and affordable), and then of course there's the Kramer FC-14... though, come to think of it, I've only used both with 15kHz RGBHV. I have no doubt that both of them work great with 31, though.

Got my 9a60 in the post with my polarity changer. Bigger than expected. I quite like its unique look. Feels like a quality product.
