Your High Scores Signing Initial and What it Stands For
States your 3 Capitial Letters Initial and what it stands for here. So that when we visit an acrade centre next time, we would know that's you who scores inhumanly high scores on the shmups cab.
My Initial: SAM
Stands for: SAM my name.
If anyone of you notice a black cat playing game before a shmups cab that's me.
BTW, one thing I wish to ask for quite a long time, any of you know or have seen the mysterious guy who sign AAA?
AAA seems to appear in every acrade centre I have been visited and sometime he play really good/but many times he play really badly. Moreover, he seems to play nearly every kind of games. And even more mysterious is I have never meet him in person before.

I've been initialing that since i was 11 years old and just because a bunch of other goombas started doing it too doesn't mean i'm gonna stop. Theyre not taking away my initials.
But i started using it because i'm a Nick Rox (Nick Des Barres) fan from way back in the Gamefan days. He's currently writing for Play magazine. I still think it sounds cool so i'll probably be using that forever.
I suppose if enough people found it annoying i would start using CIR though.
At least i'm not ASS.

Continuing the Simpsons reference, and also gets shouted a fair bit when I die.
I'll use ELB if I'm playing the same games as my brother, just to make the scores easier to distinguish, as he uses DOA (since long before the fighting game was around).
Following from that, my real name isn't Bart, regardless of what a lot of people think.
I agree about the Score tag being a visible part of your profile btw.

Many games substitute AAA with something when you put them. Soul Calibur for DC for instance, but there are many others. By the way yeah, this AAA must be a real genius. He plays every game in every corner of the world!
My initials are FEN.
No shit, I'll add If you find a gyruss cabinet with a FEN on first place, that's 99% me

I use the ingenius 'STE', because, cleverly, they are the first 3 letters of my name, which is not Steev, but Steve.
Although, I used to use 'RAD' for a while I thought was great in the '80s.., and sometimes SLT, which are my initials.

I used to use PAL, as it was kind of close to my real name, but nobody could ever figure it out. PAL? Fuck that, me thought. I've always hated my initials. PBE -- just doesn't have a ring to it. Too close to pube. You need a vowel between two consonants for it to sound good.

Well, for the same reason you don't use your real name here (unless your name is NTSC-J, in which case you'd have my unbridled praises ). Having a nickname is very 1980. Many programmers had one as well back in the time. It's a matter of mystery, somewhat. It's not that we are not proud. It's that we like to have a nickname and we bloody use it :]NTSC-J wrote:I don't get why most of you guys don't use your real initials. Be proud. I use JHA, but might change it to JLA or just J_A. My birth certificate is long-winded.

In the past I used to use "RLS", which are my real initials. But then my sister begun playing a few games that I also played, and her initials are the same.
So I changed it to "RAF", which is the first letters of my name (Rafael) . My sister, by the way, also changed it to "BEK" (Her name is Rebeca), though I believe she haven't played a game that requires 3 letters entering for more than 5 years now

Having a nickname is one thing, but when you only get 3 letters, I'd just assume use my name. I know Japanese players have bizarre LAOS-Osada-Sennin-WIZ-etc. names they go by. I get what you're saying though, nicks give it an edge.Fenrir wrote:Well, for the same reason you don't use your real name here (unless your name is NTSC-J, in which case you'd have my unbridled praises ). My best friend who's equally into imports and arcade games as I am, always calls me J for short (my real name is Julian), so he thought it proper that I be NTSC-J.
Gaijin Punch, I know you as Paul and I know you as GP, but from this day forward, it's gonna be Gaijin Pube.
