BUMP to the top! What better than a history of The Disney Afternoon? From SyFy.com, no less. It's a good read.

I also heartily endorse taking a few minutes to read / skim through this New York 2nd Circuit judicial opinion, linked in the article, for a few happy groans resulting from a 'boar'ed judge with too much time on his flippers.

I remember vividly the day I spent about half an hour downloading a video of this commercial on a 36k modem connection. It was a hot as hell day, and the more I watched it, the more thirstier I became. :)

Turns out the "Homeless vet gives his last 20 bucks to help stranded motorist" story and the subsequent GoFundMe were nothing but a fabrication:

They should have revealed it was a fake but then not refunded anybody's money. That truly would have been an early Christmas present

Something has happened which I would never ever believed to happen - I have formed my own game development studio (finally secured the first pre seed funds). Production should start next month, but it will be full year before we can show anything to the public.
Can't talk about the project, just saying that it's not a shmup - sorry. But we are developing it for Nintendo Switch.

Interview with some Google tech tool was good for a few chuckles.

https://www.siliconera.com/2019/07/21/g ... -and-more/

Is it just me, or does he answer this question like a politician?

If the Stadia service is discontinued, do we know what (if anything) will happen with game purchases?

Doronichev: “We get this a lot. I hear you. Moving to the cloud is scary. I felt the same way when music was transitioning from files to streaming. I still have all my old CDs in the garage… although it’s hard to find a CD player these days :)

The same happened to Movies and Photos and my Docs and other files… And it’s great! Games are no different. Eventually all of our games will be safely in the cloud too and we’ll feel great about it. We’ve been investing a ton in tech, infrastructure and partnerships over the past few years. Nothing in life is certain, but we’re committed to making Stadia a success.

The games you buy on Stadia are yours to play. From day one we’ll support Takeout, so that you can download your game metadata, including saves if you want to.

Of course, it’s ok to doubt my words. Theres nothing I can say now to make you believe if you don’t. But what we can do is to launch the service and continue investing in it for years to come. Exactly how we’ve been doing with gMail, Docs, Music, Movies and Photos. That’s exactly what we’re committed to.
My lord, I have come for you.

Got a semi-busted deluxe DDR pad compatible with Cube, PS2 and original Xbox on the cheap, and a Mayflash 3-in-1 Joybox adapter. While dissecting the pad, I noticed a graphite trace on the cellophane (!) membrane looked worn down; and quickly made a bridge using a strip of aluminum foil and scotch tape. Boom, fixed.

Using the Gamecube connector registers each arrow as separate button presses after disabling the analog stick input through the Joybox control app. Oh, yeah. 8)

Bring it on, DDR and Stepmania. I'll take you on whether it's on Xbox, GC, PS2 or PC.

My SUPER TASK FORCE took him down and bundled him off to exile, aka HG101 Image (using the classic "hentai mag under a cardboard box propped up with a stick" technique). It was the most humane thing to do, after he kept getting into flamey flamewars Image Of course, now he's been banned from there too, for - you guessed it - an unrepentant lust for ever more hardcore hentai gaming Image

I was trying not to get too into this, but I got genuinely curious about why he got banned from HG101 and sure enough, it was essentially flamey posts. While skimming through the threads he last posted in (and I assume his posts on those was what got him banned) I came across a tidbit that I found very amusing (thread, for context):
edmonddantes, on HG101 wrote:What would this girl have done if she had lost Gradius II and gotten the "you need more practice" jibe, I wonder?
Which was pretty much what got the NG thread started on the first place. And also the main content of his introductory post on HG101. I also discovered he has a blog, and apparenty, now HG101 is worse than this place. :)
I have to say, this guy has way to much time on his hands.

I'd be careful if I were you BIL, someday he'll realize that it was the thrashing he got because of NG that lead to this string of misfortunes and he'll come for you. :o

Oh no don't worry, we're actually like five or six items down the list, and from what I can tell, we're actually relatively ok in his book - not evil, just crazy. HG101 is the devil now, with TV Tropes and NeoGAF surely not far behind.

Yep. I wasn't around for that stuff. Made me laugh. At one point in his video he talks about how he always ends up getting ran off a forum for essentially the same reason. Really makes you think tbh.
