I'd say DFK BL gets close at times, but I'm all for more gabber and breakcore in video games, so bring it on.qmish wrote: Why i mentioned Karous, besides trance/techno/gabber/d'n'b it also nearly achieved breakcore sound which i dont see elsewhere

The first track and the music that plays at the end of a mission have 'that edge'. Your ears may well tell you different things to mineSumez wrote:No, but neither is the Mars Matrix soundtrack. I'd say they're around the same level of "nasty"MintyTheCat wrote:To be honest, F242 were never full on and nasty.
Examples:

Also, did you just suggest that I "look up Portion Control"? :3 :3 : 3
Tbh I think that F242 have not made anything decent since 1993 but I doubt that they need to as they made it cash and success wise. They still play live and they are well worth seeing live.
Your Industrial education is lacking, Sumez - we'll have to get you sorted out

Cyborg Attack is boring-as-hell toothless cookie cutter crap. If you'd heard any "harsh electro" or whatever people decide to call it nowadays, it's the kind of band that adds absolutely nothing to the formula. I have no idea why you'd namedrop that out of everything you have available :3

Each to their own. I appreciate them for continuing to use the DX7. We'll have to get together to go through music. I've honestly been listening to industrial for about 27 years now so it may take some timeSumez wrote:Cyborg Attack is boring-as-hell toothless cookie cutter crap. And you have not heard of Portion-Control, James Ray - just how long have you been into Industrial for? You do know the obvious stuff right: Puppy, yelworC, etc.?

Not sure if DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou's boss theme counts. It's actually more like dubstep, though.

You mentioned k.h.d.n. but I'll mention it again: k.h.d.n.
Otherwise the guys at SuperSweep (particularly Ayako Saso and Shinji Hosoe) do a lot of this kind of music. They also release compilation discs at Comiket now and then called "Overdrive Hell" which varies between proper hardcore and what you called "bastard techno". Have a browse through this and see what you find: https://vgmdb.net/artist/247
SuperSweep did the soundtrack for weird PSN/XBLA shmup Prismatic Solid and while it's not proper dirty, it's pretty good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fz2Fc1NnmNc
Shameless plug as I made two tracks, but TxK/Tempest 4000 has a couple of old school techno bangers (but also a lot of other random stuff): https://txk-ost.bandcamp.com/album/txk- ... soundtrack

This is basically trance. I don't think it has anything in common with dubstep.xxx1993 wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yY_E8Vf8mQ0

EDIT: Nevermind, forgot the short wobble bass a couple of minutes into the song. I guess that's what people identify as dubstep nowadays XD
