I think it's been confirmed a couple of times that Blue point are remastering another Sony exclusive title, but no even so much of a hine as to what it is. We can only hope.

I'm not really hoping for a remaster, it's just that if one is right around the corner, I'd rather wait for that one. :P
The original game looks and plays amazing as it is.

It's the only one I never made it very far in, may start it myself once I finish up with Yakuza 0.

Heh. Ludwig and Maria are up there too. The lore/story with the DLC is fantastic.

Yeah. Similar to the Amelia fight but with fire and lava. 2nd form was pretty tough, have to really make sure you stay in on his side.

Yep. They all look kind of similar. For some reason I was thinking he did a couple moves like Amelia but I watched a quick youtube clip of the Cleric Beast to double check as it's been weeks (I had a nasty cold and couldn't play for about a week) and Laurence definitely behaved like that.

I was actually going to edit it out but it's too late for that now. ;)

Necro how are you liking Kuon so far? I've been replaying it myself since I picked up a copy recently.

The two(?) Dark Souls III DLCs are discounted by 66% on PSN right now.

If I were to buy my first ever DLC for any game ever, is either of them worth purchasing?
Also, what's a Season Pass? Is that just a fancy way of saying you get both DLCs?

So you haven't played The Old Hunters? I'd do that first.

There's an on-disc release with the DLC for DS3 (The Fire Fades ed) and it's pretty cheap at this point.

It's not cheap around here for sure.

Old Hunters is discounted too, but it still costs more twice as much as the others, and definitely more than I'd pay for some virtual product. :)

Yeah Old Hunters is kinda annoying to get. I paid $25 for the African/Middle Eastern GOTY release with the DLC on disc. Just $5 more than only the DLC.

As far as price of the third, how much is it there? It's $20 new here which I consider cheap.

Cheapest I can dig up is £35 shipped. And that for a game I already own, mind you. The DLC itself is like $5.

Yeah that's shit. At that point I'd just buy the DLC as well.

And yes season pass is fancy speak for all the DLC, meant to answer that earlier.

I actually finished Kuon this last weekend. I've been sorting through my thoughts on it since then and have been struggling to come up with anything of substance to say about it without talking much more broadly about the survival horror genre. In short, I think this game fits cleanly into the post-Resident Evil 2/pre-Resident Evil 4 survival horror landscape, for better or worse.

Kuon is Resident Evil 2 with a different setting and minor experimentation on top-level gameplay mechanics that only served to dilute the horror elements in the first place. This is really all there is to say or know about Kuon as a video game. It is a much better experience than it is a video game but there is a whole lot of video game getting in the way of that experience. This is why the best parts of Kuon are those bits and pieces not bound or obscured by mechanical gameplay. The title screen was legitimately my favorite aspect of the game.

See, this all sounds very negative but I actually did not dislike Kuon. I find it very difficult to talk about horror games since the late Summer of 2014 when I downloaded and experienced P.T. on my PlayStation 4 for the first time.

Interesting take. Agree that the experience of the game is really something else. The setting is wonderful, and creepy as hell.

It's still holding up as a personal favorite for me. My other favorites include Haunting Ground, RE4 and the Fatal Frame games. I'm going to finally play Clock Tower 3 soon, so that should be interesting. Iirc it's a big departure from the previous CT games.

I'll take the lack of response as an indication that none of the DS3 DLCs are worth owning.

This also means I shouldn't expect to receive any more flak for not playing DLCs in the future :P

Get the DLC if you like the game enough that you feel paying for more is worth it. I feel DSIII has the weakest DLC content in the "series", but I didn't regret paying for it.

I'd pretty much agree with this. DS1 and Bloodborne DLC are STELLAR.

Nah I just couldn't be bothered to respond.
The only reason i'm not giving you flak is because i think you get more joy out of criticising the games than playing them and I don't want to encourage more of that. :]

I love the Ringed City.
Ariandel is a bit short.
Artorias of the Abyss was also a bit short.

Bloodborne had the best DLC.

Dark Souls 1 gets a lot of praise, but it's mainly the bosses that are what people are thinking of. Only really has one new stage. It's not bad, but I like the 2 brand new ones in BB a good bit better. The remixed one is cool too.
