Wow didn't know this had a stateside LD release. Is it by U.S. Renditions? I know they released Iczer 1 on VHS

Pretty cool gets (dat Star Wars set...)
MAAAANGA/CPM. Don't ask me how but Manga got Iczer 3, Media Blasters (also US Renditions?) got Iczer 1 and ADV got Iczelion... Generally one company got most of a franchise even back then.

I went through all the Star Wars movies, it had been years since I watched them and even longer since I had seen the theatrical cut. It's like you are at a theater in Japan basically. Subs below the picture and lotttts of film bloop, grain etc as this particular release set has no dnr or ee. Fucking magnificent, if you are into that kinda thing.

Wow.

What exactly are those in the first pic? Game related obviously but lots of different things they could be.

Laserdiscs! The top three are Superplays, the middle is a concert and obviously the fourth is anime.

I meant to say game related LDs, oops. But yeah I was wondering on the first pic only, superplays make sense.

Picked up a couple of PCB's over the last month. Nothing to fancy, nice to get a copy of ESP Ra.De. again after selling mine many moons ago.

Now, this is what I call punk rock, in a sense that it could only be made by a very young (freshly experienced?) folk. While its 2006 digital remaster sounds better to my ears, this - way cheaper - early CD print becomes a vintage Psychocandy disc in my collection somewhat and I like treating myself to it every now and then. By the way, Psychocandy's demo tape origins hark back to the year 1983, also. Most puzzling thing to me is how come I hadn't heard of it until most recently (considering how deeply into music of the sort I was in my youth). Could be that the audience in its time and age wasn't quite ready yet (not brooding enough, aye?), so it just did not befit an idealised image of nineteen-eighties' rock music, cultivated by its most devout worshippers. I also feel The Cult were ahead of their time in a similar way. Prior to Madchester, "shoegaze" and the likes.

Sweet get! I'm an (obssessive) fan of The Cure and a big fan of the Banshees, and the Glove album is on my list for sure. Both Fat Bob and Steven Severin are iconic goth rockers of course, so it's a really interesting collab. Made not long after the "Pornography" and "The Top" Cure records where Robert was completely wasted on hard drugs, and I believe Severin was no stranger to the stuff too. I find the record interesting but can't say I dig that girls vocals, seem to lack personality a bit. Nevertheless, this is a pretty cool psychedelic affair. Not as strong to me as the respective members' band, but a fun curiosity still

Been meaning to talk to you about another band you mentionned earlier but I forgot. Will dig a bit and come back with the subject

I bought three things I can't use easily, yet:

Expert by Nichibutsu, it's a FPS for the PlayStation. :D! Unfortunately RetroArch doesn't support physical discs so I will have to fiddle a bit.
Rare N-Gage game "The Elder Scrolls: Shadowkey." Have to get an N-Gage...
3DO game "Immercenary," bought after I read some cool things about it and was taken by the premise. It reportedly doesn't work in emulators and streams from the disc. So, I also have to get a 3DO now...sheesh...

Mostly, I wanted to report on some Cool / Humorous Old Stuff:

The "first consumer LCD digital camera," the QV-10, has some very INTERESTING quirks. Namely, should the AA batteries fail while it is writing images to the card, the camera soft-locks and the original intention was that you'd send it in to Casio just so they could unlock it and possibly retrieve any images. Weird. Source and amusing old review: http://www.wherry.com/gadgets/qv10/

Konami and Casio also released a special version of the QV-11, the follow-up to the camera, branded with Tokimeki Memorial stuff, including some digital images already on the included 2MB compact flash card. Weird x2! https://www.digitalkameramuseum.de/en/p ... ry_id=1215

Finally, here's a manual from an old Motorola computer station, the pleasantly named EXORciser. http://www.bitsavers.org/components/mot ... _Jul76.pdf It's showing up here because I noticed an EXORciser was used as part of the first handheld digital camera prototype from Kodak in 1975. https://www.digitalkameramuseum.de/en/p ... -prototype

Bittboy

I bought it really to play NES games but they've added support for SFC/MD/PCE/Mame and a few other emus. all in all it's worth US$40 I feel.

The Glove

Er - wow - I wasn't aware of this project. It sounded very Banshees to my ear. I quite like what I'm hearing - the song Sex-Eye-Make-Up I like. Reminds me of the old Gothy days - before it went all techno-party/festival bullshit :)

@Obiwanshinobi been meaning to ask : is there something special about the first pressing of the J&MC's Psycho Candy since you're mentioning it? like a different mix/mastering? the CD copy I have seems dated to the '80s so more than likely it's a first pressing and not a reedition

Nothing I'd know about, it's just that I have a soft spot for late eighties'/early nineties' CDs of material recorded shortly before digitalisation of recording itself, so they are very basic, but their analogue sources had not yet had the time to deteriorate significantly by the moment of early CD mastering, or so I like to think. Or it's just a sort of weird attachment akin to the one I have to cheap DVDs these days.

Thanks a lot! I did a reverse image search and it turns out it's an official Yasushi Suzuki's artwork.. I really didn't remember this one.

And again, congrats on your game room - I'd be happy to own just a single cab :)
