Hi,

Game Tengoku is listed as slated for release with a TBA release date. Does anyone have more information? I can't find anything about a switch release. I'm asking because it's on sale on steam right now, and if there is nothing definitive for switch I will buy on steam.

Thanks.

It's on the list based on really thing indication that it might be coming from may 2018: https://nintendoeverything.com/game-par ... es-system/ I wouldn't expect it based on that, but who knows, Switch seems to be a magnet for shmups. There is no official info for it to come so I would remove it from the list for time being.

Oh I hadn't seen that article. I appreciate the follow-up. I hope it comes to switch! I bought on steam anyway.

Thanks for the info, @pcb_revival and @CRP! This Switch-only shmupper is super stoked about this collection, especially the Gradius games.

Update (4/6): Arcade Archives Terra Force has now been pulled from the eShop. That tells us the game had released when it wasn’t supposed to.

Arcade Archives Donkey Kong 3, which is very shumpish, was recently released on Switch. I had the pleasure of playing the AC version in a cab a few years ago. It's definitely better than the NES version.

I found it odd that Terra Force appeared on the US eshop when it wasn't yet released on the JP eshop.

Most AA games have the option to tate the screen, but the aspect ratio doesn't automatically adjust for all games.

This is / will be out today on Switch, PS4, Xbone, Steam: https://www.konami.com/games/50th/ac/arcade/us/en/

So shmups from that:
* Typhoon/A-JAX
* Gradius / Nemesis
* Gradius 2 / Vulcan Venture
* Life Force / Salamander
* Thunder Cross
* TwinBee
* Scramble

These are "powered by Arcade Archives" (Hamster), so most likely same versions as which were released separately for PS4 some years ago already.

Arcade Classics isn't showing on US eShop. I read on Twitter that the collections don't have multiple region ROMs like the individual releases.

Cuphead was just released for the Switch.

edit: Arcade Classics is now available on the US eShop and is showing up on Nintendo's website. The only supported language listed is English, so I'm guessing you can't even play the JP version when switching languages.

Seems like the western versions at least only contain the US versions (at least Thunder Cross) and only one version of each game. Not sure does the Japan one contain the japanese versions of the games, probably, it's more expensive at least I think. Would be great if somebody could confirm this.

If the US version only is not a huge problem for you, I still think it's worth the price. It's still a shame that you don't get the different versions of each game in the collection. Still, if the japan version contain those, it's still cheaper to get the collection twice than to by each game as Arcade Archives separate release (applies only to PS4 and even then you need to get Thunder Cross from PSN Japan as it's not available in Europe at least).

I already have the separate PS4 games (bought them at various times before the collection was even announced), including the JP Thunder Cross. From what I read, the JP Konami Arcade Classics on switch only has the JP versions. I rather have the JP versions than the US Thunder Cross, US Nemesis, or the US Haunted Castle. A bit disappointing that multiple versions and even tate was left out of the Konami collections.

Whats the difference ? Also weird that they left out tate, hope they patch it up.

Thanks for the heads up! This news stokes me to no end. It was the Raiden franchise that got me into Shmups in the 80's and, since I've only owned Nintendos, I'm definitely picking this up.
