Part of a new Cps2 collection.

Moderator edit note: Merging two very similar topics. Also changing the topic title since it is stand alone rather than a digital/physical release on home consoles. Official site here: http://capcomhomearcade.com/home

don't get your hopes up; Digital Eclipse does a lot of Capcom ports and they routinely suck.

Ok I'm interested. Trying to keep my expectations in line (can't expect M2 level emulation), but it is cool to see Capcom acknowledge the CPSII.

Probably the most damning sign would be if this turns out to be a NA/EU only release.

I love the titles, could pay $200, but if its a giant dedicated plug-and-play dual arcade stick I'll have to sit this one out. Just no space for that at the moment.

Does it actually say anything about ports or home consoles?

Also, there's already a thread about this, in case you missed it being at the top of the subforum: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=64432

Does Capcom own that IP, or would that have to be in connection with Takumi?

Some rumors going around calling this a 2 player plug and play Arcade stick system.

I hope it is a console collection of CPS-2 games.

I figured it would have the same legal standing as Giga Wing, which is in the teaser.

Apparently not just a plug & play, a 'high quality' one at £200 or so. That sucks. Would also seem a pretty silly thing to do after I believe the belt-scroller comp sold pretty well for them. You'd have thought that if they've had to pay for the rights to re-release PG, GW and AvP, they'd want to make it available to the largest number of people possible....

Curious to see what it is, but I am in the same boat as a few others - space is an issue as is the rumored $200 price tag.

I'm hoping the reports are somewhat muddled, and it's a console comp with a special edition stick available.

Madness. Three of the games were just available on the belt collection, and Mega Man Fighters is a dud anyway. Chop the dead wood and sell it for consoles!

And a seriously nonsensical lineup of games too.

No Forgotten Worlds, 19XX:The War Against Destiny, Dimahoo or Mars Matrix?

Why Eco Fighters?

if you have 1944 on there, you should be able to put Dimahoo on there too(both Raizing\Eighting games)

Real Sanwa parts is attractive, and most of the games here are stuff I would play, but that's a hefty price for something that, at present, doesn't appear to be expandable. 1944, GigaWing, and Progear are VERY tempting, though. Eco Fighters is fun, but that's on other compilations. For what they're asking, I will wait until it gets a few reviews that speak to the build quality and the games - whether or not they're shoddy emulation, or good versions of the games w/o input lag issues. I'm not holding my breath, sadly.

Even if the emulation were perfect and there were no other issues (which there almost certainly will be), that's still a lot of real, physical space to take up for a device that will only run a small handful of games in FBA. To say nothing of trying to ship that thing overseas, if it really is UK-only. I'll go on pretending this doesn't exist, I guess.

From the official site.
"The 16 pre-installed games are from the original Capcom CPS1 and CPS2 arcade ROMs with emulation provided by FB Alpha, delivering an authentic & accurate arcade experience exclusively for the Capcom Home Arcade."

I can play the entire CPS-2 catalog on my Original Xbox or Darksoft Multi. Unless this thing gets discounted this is a hard pass for me.

That's a whole lot of space for not enough games. Imagine if they went the Sega Mega Drive Collection route instead... ALL the games.

FB Alpha is strictly non-commercial, since it's based off old MAME code / license, so that's.. bold.

They're either laughing in the face of software licenses, or this isn't going to make it to market.

Rather expensive for 16 games, although it does at least come with decent hardware. The case design seems like ergnomic problems waiting to happen.
