10 known sealed copies apparently. It's a fairly cheap uncommon variant open.

Yeah. Seems like it had all the physical supplements with it. The thing in the bottom pic left side folds out as a poster. I'll be watching it again tonight. I plan to pop in that third disc as well, which is all extras.

Manga Entertainment actually co-funded the film's production, that's why their name is on there. :)

It even has the English dub. It has subs, but I am not sure if my player supports LD+G (Japanese subtitle standard) so I might have to buy a decoder. I'll find out shortly. There are some other Japanese LDs w/ English subs that I want so at least the decoder wouldn't be for on movie.

I love how in the artist's desperation to show a nipple he basically makes her right nipple go off the reservation - that is one hell of a bad boob job.

The Kids Are Alright is the first region-free DVD I've got coded for PAL (rather than NTSC) system, which is nice (in film's case). Well worth the room it takes (if you've kept any for DVDs; not that there's much improvement to be gained from Blu-ray, most of the original material used being vintage TV footage). Fantastic sound quality first and foremost.

No need for a pic as you've seen it a million times before, but I just picked up another copy of Silent Hill 2: Inner Fears for Xbox. I got broke in to some 6-7 years ago, luckily it was local crack heads rather than anyone that knew what was what, so they just grabbed random handfuls of stuff. They left my JPN 360 stuff, my PAL/JPN DC stuff, and various other bits worth a decent amount, and made a grab at PS2/Xbox and PC stuff that would go for a quid apiece at the local pawn shop. Every now and again I'll come to re-play something, and end up annoyed when I realise it's missing. Realised while looking for SH2 that I don't have Panzer Orta or OutRun 2 anymore either, so they're next.
Thinking about it, I don't think I ever played the bonus scenario on here either.

I already had OutRun 2 SP for the PS 2 but don't regret getting vanilla 2 for the Xbox at all. High res was worth the $20.

It's currently £5.00 in my local CEX so I'll be picking it up over the weekend. I do remember it looking comparable to the X360 version when running through Component cables, very impressive it was. I also wasn't aware that there were quite a few gameplay differences between the original and CTC until pointed out on these boards, so looking forward to getting reacquainted with it again.

I tend to play a shit ton of OutRun every May/June as the weather starts to get nice.

Almost time!

The vanilla Xbox version looks every bit as good as Online Arcade. I do play on the 360 so on the rare occasion (fork/checkpoint) the scenery will vanish for a moment, but it happens very rarely and doesn't detract at all.

As far as the game play differences go I have noticed it myself. The control seems just a bit better in the PS 2 SP (I would love to snatch up the import of that one day...so expensive though) but I wasn't sure if it was an OutRun 2/CTC difference or a PS 2/Xbox thing.

I also dig different cars in each game. Can't remember at the moment which I like in 2, but in CTC I drive the OutRun class Testarossa almost exclusively. It accelerates quick, has a decent top speed, is only a 5 speed (can't get into the 6 speeds), and handles amazingly.

Of the two I probably play the PS 2 one a bit more just because there is more content on the disc and the menus are laid out far better than the Xbox version. Also vanilla 2's time attack is far inferior to SP's.
My lord, I have come for you.

To those who like a physical copy of a game, I strongly recommend getting hold of the OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast PC version while it's cheap, as it is likely the most "future proof" of the four (in terms of setting up the gear necessary to play it without resorting to emulation, some years down the line). You'll get as high a resolution and fancy anti-aliasing as your system can muster this way, also. The necessity of moving "lens_flare_offset.bin" file, manually, from the "Media" folder to "Common" folder for the sake of sun's & lens flares' appearing is the worst of it.

Thanks! No need to lie, customs were like all this is old used stuff right? They were more interested on the bottles of whisky I also brought over.

Thanks! Big fan of Ueda, will be interesting to see what he´s working in ATM, even though perhaps it won´t be related to his earlier games. Darius collection is still growing, next time I want to grab a couple of PCBs.

A phenomenal studio recording of Ruckzuck (Kraftwerk cover) on this one, arranged by Hubert Zemler, who also does the drumming here (reminds me of Jaki Liebezeit - R.I.P. - in a way). I wish I could easily (without uploading it myself) share the thing with you lot, but it didn't seem to be on YouTube last time I checked. The rest of album is not so radio-friendly otherwise, and yet this track alone deserves to make a splash.

Nothing speaks "the end of major epoch" like realising that there will be no new OutRun copies, no new licensed cabs, not even online release, most likely - ever.

What bottles and how many?

I usually bring back Scotch since all the noteworthy Japanese whiskey is either gone or easier to source in the states.

Nothing crazy, just stuff you can find on department stores. Got me couple bottles of non age stated Yamazaki single malt, a couple of bottles of Hibiki Blender's Choice, and 2 non age stated SM Miyagikyo. Oh got a Kirin Fuji Sanroku signature blend just for kicks, too. Wanted some Ichiro stuff as I've never tried it, but no luck. Didn't bring more because baggage and customs restrictions.

Impressive how well stocked Scotch is over there, though. May bring over some bottles nex time.

Recent arrivals

Laserdiscs
Star Wars Japanese Special Editions from the mid 80s. Pretty much the theatrical cut. All in good shape and fully complete.
Phantom Quest Corp US release Vol 1-2 (entire OAV)
Explorer Woman Ray US release
Iczer 3 US release Vol 1-2 (need Vol 3 which has been ordered from another seller)
Showdown in Little Tokyo US release bought from a seller I've bought from a lot so I trust it was not damaged when sent but got roughed up in the mail. Looks like it should play though, will watch it tonight.
Peace Hotel Hong Kong release in the same package as the previous LD and unfortunately got cracked. Not a very common release so this is pretty unfortunate. Had to request a refund.

Bastard Complete Collection DVD
