1CC of Star Fighter on original hardware - still not 100% in MAME due to missing starfield. Personal best in a couple of Cave games at the end of the video.

My Darius Gaiden clear. - ABDHLQV

https://youtu.be/xyWkADHdUmU

I've written some commentary as subtitles but it's way more sparse than youtube's old annotation system that they removed in their infinite wisdom.

They've just removed all existing annotations on old videos too so I lost all my good stuff on Garegga, Ikaruga and Binding of Isaac vids. I imagine many shmupsfarmers have been affected as well.

I've been playing Giga Wing again these days and recorded a replay with Isha.

https://youtu.be/1Wtw6Olavjg

My Stage 5 was the worst I've played in a while, but somehow it still ended being my best scoring run so far with 63 trillion points.

Lol, that guy's channel gave me a good laugh. Those Strikers videos (and probably everything on that channel) are all ridiculously fake.

Basically anything labeled as a "longplay" will most likely be tool-assisted from my own experience. There might be some legit ones out there, but they seem to be the minority.

Found this out from Plasmo shortly after posting the link.

It's a shame that this gamer couldn't be bothered to put out a convincing looking highscore run whilst using savestates. YouTubers like DarkNoob who uses tool assisted runs with fighting games at least makes the viewing experience look impressive.

Because even making a tool-assisted superplay takes a lot of time needed to understand how to route and why when longplayers want to release a hundreds of videos. And a regular viewer anyway will say "What a reaction, this gamer must be a pro".

Couldn't agree more with what you are saying on that.

Slightly off topic, there was a trade show event at London Excel Centre. EAG Expo 2019
https://youtu.be/httuPRvi-iM

Obviously no shumps but at least the coin-op industry is still trying to put content out.

Looks more legit than World of Longplays' Dragon Blaze run at least. Though that video is entertaining for its own reasons...

With what? I'm not supporting longplays, I just see a reason why longplays are so bad.

On what you stated about tool assisted superplays require more dedicated effort than long-play runs.

I mean tool assisted superplays require more effort than tool assisted garbage. And longplays usually are tool assisted garbage. What's wrong?

If I didn't got everything right then sorry and let's close this discussion.

What's wrong is that you need to take a chill pill because I have no idea this conversation is now going.

I simply supported the comments you made earlier. What's wrong with that, nothing.

Improved Giga Wing (Arcade) run with Isha, 71 trillion points:
https://youtu.be/i6QCNTKh0Qo

And here's my Crimzon Clover 1.01 (Original Mode) run from approximately 1 year ago:
https://youtu.be/dbkwo8F2Z14

EDIT: Just noticed that the CC replay looks terrible, I'm probably going to re-upload it soon.

From my experience watching CC on Twitch, you really need to crank the max bandwidth so the footage is viewable. And capture/upload at => 1080p60 because places like Twitch/YT automatically lower the bandwidth for any lesser resolution.

I just noticed that Vastynex got a full release, so I played it and got a 1CC on my first credit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdKMXYS_co4

Yeah, it's still an easy game.

A snippet of a project I'm working on in ZeroRanger, a full 1CC of the game using only the default fire option with Type C. (It seems to be everyone's least favorite so why not?)

Here's the route for 2-3, including the proper Grapefruit fight. (I grab sword early game just to finish the game proper, I never use it)

Not even worth playing shumps nowadays when tool assisted plays are becoming the norm

Why would the existence of tool-assisted runs change anything?

It doesn't, but it would be nice if these guys didn't try to pass them off as legit.
