I got to see some original inks of his from the 70s - they're about the same size as the finished product, real craftsmanship there. Dude was definitely talented. Sad to hear the number of frauds and con men he apparently had to contend with in his final years, but at least he still had most of his health.

Nic Roeg dead aged 90.

Like a lot of filmmakers he went off the boil after the 70's, but he had a great run.
Performance, Walkabout, Don't Look Now, The Man Who Fell to Earth are all great. Bad Timing and Eureka are also pretty interesting. He kind of became more normal after that. A couple of moments in Castaway and The Witches.

He had a career as a cinematographer before all that.

His last film was Puffball (2007), an unwatchable mess.

Lou Gehrig's disease, if memory serves. The guy also apparently was on the crew for Rocko's Modern Life, one of my old favorites.

Fuck! No way... loved that guy. Yeah, Super Dave Osbourne was great, but to me he'll always be Larry David's even more (maybe) obnoxious Jew Bro Marty Funkhauser, and the short-lived surrogate for George Blueth.

This was a tragedy to learn. Super Dave's stint on Norm MacDonald Live is something I rewatch over and over again. He will be sorely missed. And mean gene too! Damn...

"some gold plated chains would make a nice retirement gift for a very, very good slave."
"are you serious? did you just write that?"
"i didn't write it."
"did you just say that? oh god almighty."

also his character in arrested development was the best part of that entire season.

"you shouldn't have said anything... no, you shouldn't have said anything."

it's an endlessly fun bit.

arrested development is the only show that's as funny as it is clever. highly considered and literate, but still earnestly absurd and even slapstick... somehow fitting for a cameo from super dave osborne

RIP. Her various TV roles like Eve Simpson in Murder She Wrote are very fun to watch and her role in Creature of the Black Lagoon was especially memorable. She was also in a western with Jimmy Stewart that's coming to US Blu-ray soon (Bend of the River).
