Tips for slimming down a collection in a hurry
Tips for slimming down a collection in a hurry
I've been collecting games for 20 years, and now I think it's time to start slimming down the collection and just keeping the systems and games I like the most. Short of leaving it on the sidewalk, does anyone have any advice for this? For a while, I was trying to sell a bunch of stuff on eBay, but still have a lot leftover even in that one eBay box. I'm even thinking of donating a bunch to used game stores in the area.
Humans, think about what you have done

Donate them to charity for a tax credit. Just keep a detailed list of what you donated and ask for a tax receipt.

I've had better luck selling on the forum than on eBay. Do you have a sales thread. Pawn shops, thrift stores, and garage sales work too, but you won't get as much.

Were you selling in singles? Just bunch up what didn't sell in singles and see if you can get rid of it as a set for a cheap price.

Sell on forums. Assuming you price well and are open to offers, you should have pretty good success with it.
Also, what's the rush? It sounds like you are just getting tired with having loads of stuff you don't use, as opposed to needing to get some money together for some other cause (unless there is another part of the story we aren't hearing; if there is, understood--but if there isn't, just take your time with it).
