Venom (2018) - Ruben Fleischer
The gossip went like this;
The,
A Star Is Born (2018) - Bradley Cooper camp, worried about the looming shadow of another "Marvel" film, campaigned against it.
Accusing Marvel fanboys, of review bombing
A Star Is Born, so as to curry sympathy, indignace and indeed plausible deniability (in case of poor returns) for their star vehicle.
This got the Marvel fans up in arms and a self-fulfilling accusation became flesh.
I think we might be able to get to the bottom of this, here.
SONY
I would put it to you, that it was in fact SONY, who devised and accrued all this free PR for its
Venom
Not that I sympathise with Coopers indulgence.
I have not seen, nor do I have any intention of seeing,
A Star Is Born (2018) with Cooper and that trash he is "starring" with but it seems to me, that SONY played them real good here.
To the "film";
The idea of a big name actor, playing a fully masked CGI character, has always seemed hilarious to me. Case in point; Tom Hardy, in Venom (2018).
Some actors must love this type of roll. All the cash, half the work!
I suspect that SONY offered him big money, hoping that his name would "elevate" this rubbish.
When Hardy himself is present, onscreen in Venom, he is
unbefuckinglievably bad. Atrocious.
His "American" accent is ridiculous. His shuffling, muttering, head bobbing/lowering submissive ingratiation, is nauseating.
Come to think of it, maybe this is why Hardy loves hiding behind masks?!
And another thing
. . . what the fuck is Hardy doing with his legs?! He is not bending the knees, just throwing his legs out side to side as he "walks", like he has shat his pants!
Masks, bow-legged hobbling, what is up with hardy and all his gimpage?
Hardy's character also loses his girl, only to become besties with her new beau.
Who, does this appeal to?!
The rest of the cast were equally and eminently punchable. TV actor, calibre.
Speaking of gimpage; the Social Justice signalling early in the film, is fuckery of major league proportions.
The dialogue; . . . .
Jarringly moronic. I was not expecting poetry here but this is the work of a simpleton.
The "Action"; You can not see it. I repeat,
you can not see it. Speed blur.
Pro tip for Ruben Fleischer; Hey, Fleischer, forget about filming anything in your action scenes. Just shake the shit out of your camera. End result would be the same visually, while saving you a fortune.
Music; I can't remember a note of it.
Venom (2018) is, by any measure, a very,
very bad film.
