So the demo is apparently coming out on December 25th. This game looks really good.

The game looks incredible! You can clearly tell he loves Thunder Dragon 2 ;)

I can't believe this is running on a WonderSwan!

That's really impressive, considering the platform. I wonder if it will be available to buy as a ROM download as well since I don't have a WonderSwan/Crystal.

On a similar note, what are the options for people who don't have a WonderSwan (which I imagine is most people)?

There is a Download section to the website so I feel confident that it won't be physical-only.

I will probably buy a Wonderswan if a physical edition is released, though.

The demo comes with a PC version. Final is undetermined beyond a wonderswan cart+box.

Making a shmup exclusive to an obscure platform is fair. Making a demo of a shmup for an obscure platform and PC and no final release for PC is just animal cruelty :P (even though I totally understand it, I really do.)

Buy a SwanCrystal for sure. Much better screen.

It is to help animals determine whether they want to buy the hardware that the game will be released on.

The WonderSwan is not all that obscure and acquiring one is fairly simple, at least until the pricegougers ruin that too. There's also a lot of cool things on the WonderSwan worth owning, like Ogre Battle Gaiden, the Digimon Tamers, Dicing Knight. (which is unfortunately prohibitly expensive though for good reason), etc. This is not like the Neo Geo, but more like the Dreamcast. If you can get your hands on a Flash Masta...

I posted in the other thread, very much looking forward to this.

Here is the link for the WS flash card, keep an eye on the page for stock updates chaps and don't keep missing the chance to buy one like I do (N.B. last batch sold out).

https://www.flashmasta.com/category/won ... lash-cart/

Ultimately hoping for a final product in WS cart form.

In the meantime will the demo will work in Oswan?

I take it that I will have to use a work around for the PC version to run on the Mac (WineBottler)?

Wine and similar should work just fine. The ROM will not work in Oswan, I use hardware tricks it doesn't support. I believe mednafen supports them though.

I've not been following the development, but I seem to recall that retroarch runs natively on Mac and there are tons of cores, there must be a WonderSwan one.

Otherwise, another solution would be OpenEmu, similar to retroarch, but, IIRC, made solely for the Mac platform.

Please do not use RetroArch. I'm pretty sure their mednafen version is too old anyways.

Looks awesome, can't wait and will purchase the physical product.

Also, will the romz file work on the Flash Masta cart without a patch Trap15?

Yes it works on flashmasta, otherwise there wouldn't really be a point of releasing a demo ROM ;)

Interesting. So OpenEmu might actually be a better solution on Mac? https://openemu.org/

And, by the way, I've checked and it has a WonderSwan core from Mednafen.

This is great and the pixel art given the restrictions is really impressive.

Thank you, and congratulations on the release... my Flash Masta will be here next week. This will be the first thing I write to it!

I'm assuming from the imgs in the html/manual, that the 1:1 pixel perfect resolution is 144x224 (EDIT: Wonderswan rez, duh)?

I'm still working on creating a go-to 224p custom resolution on the PC (help?), but the game looks really cool on Portrait Mode in 1080p. Not fully fullscreen, but pretty.

I'll find some CRT justice yet.

Should the pc version be running at 75fps?
It vsyncs at 144hz and runs really fast. I'm assuming for people using 60hz monitors it's vsyncing at 60fps, but the wonderswan is 75hz isn't?

I want to make sure I'm not capping the framerate too low or too high.

It runs at 60fps on wonderswan, and that's how your pc should run it.
