Just a heads up! R-Type Dimensions is coming to Steam Nov28!

Also coming to the switch! I'm more excited for a PC release because I don't like collecting a bunch of old consoles but I'll always have a gaming PC and Steam library...

Will there be a Steam-free release?
Of course, that's just an opinion.

It's coming to the Nintendo Switch too. Glad to see this game resurfacing again.
Now, if they'd just re-release digital versions of Under Defeat, Guwange, Radiant Silvergun and Galaga DX, I could finally retire my Xbox 360 to storage.

The arranged music on the Switch trailer sucks balls. Wonder if they've sorted out the issues with the X360 version? I'm not holding my breath.

Does the EX version come with replay saving?

Liar. I've known you only from latexmachomen.com and pantysniffers.org forums.

I don't think so. The only differences I've noticed so far (15 minutes in) are the arranged soundtrack in the 3D mode, and the increased autofire rate, which is more in line with that of the PSX version.

Ed: the new arrangements are pretty poor so far, tbh - they're as corny as the R-Type Complete CD's tracks, but nowhere near as likeable.

Bought for switch. The so called arcade camera view was not what I was expected. Cheesy tiny screen inside arcade macine, not scanlines. Enjoying the game itself so far, though.

Looking forward to playing this on my 50" TV. I wonder can you bump the resolution up with the HDR trick.

Picked it up yesterday, the ST for R-Type II is nowhere near as bad as the original. Unlike the game

The new soundtracks for both games have grown on me a fair bit since that post, tbh! The first game's boss theme in particular is great, and lots of the simpler or more 'repetetive' tracks have new interludes or solo parts that work pretty well.

So tempted by this. I had, or I guess I still have it for the 360 but haven't played 360 games in quite a while now. Always thought the real-time toggle between the original art and the re-mastered 3D art was a cook gimmick.

What's the killer new feature in this release? Worth re-buying at this point for a fan of the original 2?

For me, yes.

1) No more console input lag (my PC has a 144hz Gsync monitor, 1080GTX)

2) No need to keep my 360 around anymore, Steam library will last much longer than a game console (I don't like hanging onto old gaming consoles) and I'm always on the PC and it's now in my PC game library.

3) It's cheap, why not have it in your Steam Library.

4) PC *could* receive more updates like higher resolutions in time..

But the lack of input lag is great in SHMUPS (the PS3 was really bad IMO).

If you're talking about the other console release on the Switch then I wouldn't bother....Get on Steam!

Does anyone know how to remove the borders on the side of the screen? I've set it to 1980x1080 plus fullscreen, but the borders are still there...?
