RQ: Need good Radiant Silvergun strat source.

Post by Dylan1CC »

I am finally gonna committ myself to learning and memorizing more chains in the game (beyond 1 red, 1 blue and yellow = 10,000). Are there any online guides in particular that are especially comprehensive that folks here enjoy? And do NOT say Gamefaqs, I want a site that looks a little more professional and reads better.

Unless of course the Radiant strat thread from the old days is uploaded again somehow.

A few I know of.

http://blazinglazers.gamersgraveyard.com/replay
- English guide that takes the stage4 route for scoring, incomplete, goes up to 4D.

http://www.interrupt.ne.jp/~vtf/RS_sword/index.html
- VTF-INO's Swordplay guide. In Japanese. While Swordplay specific, there are a lot of techniques that can be applied to regular play.

http://www.shmup.com/?page=doss/rs/rs_intro
- Players guide done by shmup.com and Ben.Shinobi (in French).

The above translated by Google

Thanks, Icarus. The stage 4 centered guide is a decent start.

But if anyone knows of a more complete guide in english lemme know. :)

But I can't read Jap or French. :(

I just got this game and searched for strategy and only got this old post. The English link is broken. Any other links you know about? Google did not help. I just need some basic scoring advice - I'm not good enough and don't have the patience to chain obsessively.

Edit: Ignore me. The Google translation from French to English is good enough.

Since this thread is linked from the radiant silvergun scores thread I thought it would be a good place to add this information.

One of the guides linked via webarchive below has entire stage 3 drawn in ascii with stage notes and a basic strategy. The strats are not the best, but they are great start for someone. It would be a shame if the information disappeared. Part of the guide uses the information in jeff lepine's guide on gamefaqs, but this one is more complete.

Just found this scan of the Sega Saturn Magazine Book for Radian Silvergun. Full Japanese, but lots of strategic pics and stage maps!

Those stage maps are awesome! A really great way of visualizing how to plan and attack stages. Thanks for sharing!

It is amazing to see the behemoth that is Radiant Silvergun simplified by a map. Wish I found more books like that

NTSC-J: You know STGs are in trouble when you have threads on how to introduce them to a wider audience and get more people playing followed by threads on how to get its hardcore fan base to play them, too.
