Yeah, I understand.
You can run a game in software mode, note the render resolution and manually enter it in the GS window dialog.

Linking the render resolution to the window is nothing users ever requested.
It would be quite tricky, too, as the vertical size can never be known for sure.

I only just figured this out myself - there is a CD image in the binary directory.

Exactly, this is the best, 220uf for the PS1 is not most accurate as this is what Sony used for their official PS1 RGB21/Scart cables.
