Once the big boys get their PCBs, the other guys who want it will not pay the same price.

They will just wait for the price to drop slowly.
Kind of like Akai Katana home kits, right? :D

There seems to be a pretty healthy supply of new big boys showing up these days unfortunately...
Hehe :P To be fair, that one tormented me for years.

Well, the last time I sold my CAVE collection, I struggled to get £250 for a brand new Ibara kit.

I personally think it's all going to dip. Would I care if my collection lost value? Not really. I don't intend to sell them - getting them all back over the last few years has been arduous.

If I started today, I'd give up and buy the 360 releases.

The other unfortunate side effect of this whole episode is that now there is a completed, documented sale of this kit at $2800. Even if it wasn't worth this much before, it is now - future buyers might find that completed auction without seeing this thread.
Correct.
Definitely not accusing Rancor here, but other more or less well intentioned sellers could tell that kind of unfortunate story as a way of "testing the water" to see if some big boys might contact them to offer 2800 USD...

I don't think it matters. People are already trolling crazy prices on Twitter.

Scary thing about AES isn't the prices, so much as the long-term infestation of counterfeiting cocksuckers who I wish would collectively trip heart-first onto a pitchfork when I hit "post" on this message. My blood doth boil at such deceptions. Image

Also no Shock Troopers, boo!

No, it's from a Japanese collector.

I sold my Neo Geo AES stuff a couple of years ago. Wasn't a super impressive collection or anything, but still, I probably should've held on to it. Garou MotW...

I do still own every Japanese version of every Dracula game though. Don't think I'd ever part with that. :)

You don't see too much of this kinda stuff around here, but I figured it would be fun to have one of these:

Needs a good cleaning. Someone speculated that some of that dust is probably from 1982 :3
Pictures are hotlinked to a Facebook post, so they'll probably only stick for a couple of weeks.

Yeah. I'm actually kinda looking forward to getting into that game :) I'm on a sort of old-school roll lately, and Jr. is more appealing to me than the original.

On the other hand, it wouldn't surprise me a mint Blazing comes close to 7000€ in Japan, as I have seen some Slug 1 auctions ending for over 11000€... Completely crazy

Out Zone and DFK 1.5! :D Huuuge shoutout and thank you to rancor for the help in acquiring the DFK 1.5 PCB. Got the Out Zone PCB on ebay, seems to work most of the time but intermittently I get TILT on boot and it also restarted itself randomly once so need to look into that.
