Hell yeah.

Not sure if you are much for Gundam or not but Char's Counterattack...dem hand drawn robots...

Char's Counter-attack has been sitting on my shelf for a long while now. I thought I'd get around to it during the easter holidays but didn't happen. It's not even that long, not compared to the trilogy movies anyway, not sure what is keeping me.

I think the gist of it is that it is very much uncomplicated. You get exactly what you see on the packaging, nothing more or less. Both Gunsmith Cats and the aforementioned Riding Bean is essentially oldschool anime junkfood. It's good junkfood, it has to be said, but as a purveyor of the menu, you no doubt have a good hunch on whether or not what's being offered appeals to you.

True, the application of shading is...unfortunate.

Kinda funny watching Riding Bean recently... when they got to the 3rd or well known Chicago street I finally put it together.

Well it's definitely worth a watch. Excellent BD transfer too.

Sometimes you just want to eat junk food. Ranma is like that for me too. :D

Nah, you've hit the nail right on the head on this. It's uncomplicated, good junk food

Besides, there are bunch of things that we don't agree on, hehe

So just to make sure I get this right... if I wanted the artbook(the 3x goodie), I'd just back at the base amount then add $24?

I'm still trying to decide whether or not I should spring for the $60.00 tier or not... Will the doujinshi be worth it?

I just wish Gunsmith Cats had more episodes. It's a great series while it lasts, but it's way too short.
There was a time, in the era of great chaos, when the Earth and the moon were at war with each other. A daredevil from the moon piloted a bizarre aircraft. It was feared, and because of its shape, called... Einhander.

Currently, we only have rights to release Megazone 23 in the United States. We are working with the licensor to expand this to Canada and most of Europe, and may be able to do this during the campaign period.
Welp, really hope that situation gets sorted out. Really want to back this as well :| Regional licenses and geoblocking needs to become a thing of the past quickly somehow.

I don't know why they just don't make the discs region-free. It can't cost all that much more, right? I know several Euro labels do that, at least if I recall (Arrow, for example).

Also, someone sell me on Megazone 23. I love the Mikimoto character designs, but is it worth the watch?

I can only imagine the licensing nightmare. Sometimes it still takes years for blurays of shows to come out anywhere but Japan to protect their awful pricing.

Yes.

Pretty sure I replied earlier but perhaps I forgot to submit it. Anyhow, I really appreciate it. I'll just keep an eye on things for now but I might have to take you up on that offer if the situation doesn't improve :o

I think some of their previous kickstarters were like this initially too and they eventually got it sorted, so there is hope for it at least.

Yup, I got mine the other night. I'm looking for some time this weekend to snuggle up and enjoy series. The artbook and 'doujin' (can you say that if Sonada made it) are real nice touches.

I thought the first episode was easily the best one. Two is fun, three was kind of meh.
(I'd never actually seen it before this.)

The documentaries are great, especially how they went to Chicago and their actual police department to do location scouting.

The first one is solid, the other two are a bit lacking but as a total package it's not bad. I remember the audio especially to be well recorded and pretty impressive, albeit a bit loud at times.
Still waiting for my copy, it'll probably take a little while still. Feels good to replace my LDs.

I might actually be more looking forward to this. Sounds really interesting.

Glad that stuff like this is added. The commentaries included on Otaku no Video were great as well, ended up watching that thing a lot just to get all the angles from the involved parties.

And on a side note, the shipping situation on Megazone 23 worked out in the end so I'm happy about that as well now. :o

Interestingly enough on the bonus merch only (the patches and keychain) there was a NOT FOR SALE IN GERMANY OR JAPAN sticker.

I watched this last night and it's an okay light watch. Megazone is better can't wait for that on proper BD.

Haha, it took a while but finally got my copy last Friday and watched it yesterday. Man, there is so much delicious detail. HD remasters of old anime is truly food for the soul.
Haven't seen it in a while and the background drawings in particular are so nice. Oh, and the sound is well recorded as well, but that was already evident in the LDs last time I watched this.

Interesting how there's two versions of the documentary, with one using HD materials. Didn't realize it at first and watched the old version

The old documentary is pretty fun - especially for me because some of that archival footage of Chicago is like looking at the world of my childhood. It's neat to see what 'special features' were for the VHS days. It makes me wonder: would that doc been a separate tape? Would it have been attached to the end of one of the episodes?

My VHS anime-buying days are fuzzy since i was young, but all I remember was that you'd get two or three episodes at best from a pack, or tape/tapes.
