I'm so happy ! I finished the game with only 2 lifes, so I think I can maybe reach 45 millions if I work on it.

40 million? no, not really... even I got that, and I am by no means a dedicated player. I guess I never posted in this thread...

40 mil is truthfully quite a bit easier if you're using Ageha (which makes sense as he's got better pinpoint accuracy for scoring and doesn't accidentally kill stuff with massive spread/piercing laser that Tateha does), and the scoreboard does start at 40 mil for Ageha (though this could simply be a case of noone playing as Tateha), but I'm not sure 40 mil is what I'd call a trivial score for Ageha by any means either. It's certainly not something new players are going to naturally get without trying or anything.

And here's a post for the Ageha scoreboard, just cause.

BKR - 42,159,880 - ALL - Ageha (4/6) - Shmupmame v4.2

I really don't know how to play Ageha as well as Tateha yet. Stage 4's scoring is really terrible for me. Still, it was a no miss, one tap bomb for Jakou's second last attack, and a no-miss no bomb for the final attack... except I suicided to try and get gems for the huge cancel there, and I accidentally killed Jakou before I went into Kakusei (I don't know why I was holding attack after I suicided, d'oh). Silly avoidable death. My only other death was at the end of the Alice clones section, whoops. Got a decent bit of 100x cancels there, though. If I play really safe I could probably even nomiss the game (with a horrible score, lol).

Going back to this for a clear finally and...damn my score looks bad. Well I got close to the 1CC pretty quickly at least.

No scores in almost two years? Good lord, this game used to be so popular.

Anyway, I figured I'd actually try and learn how to play Tateha a little.

Image

endoKarb - 32,709,430 - ALL - Tateha - [3/6] - Mame 0.173

I'm not doing any real scoring yet. I'm clearing pretty much every credit but I need to improve my survival on the latter half of the game first.

Stage 4 boss kills me about 1/3 of the times.
5-1 feels quite a bit harder with Tateha; I just can't seem to move fast enough to redirect all the bullets properly. This run is the first time I've no missed it.
5-2 is still giving me a lot of troubles. I've lost as much as 4 lives there. Pretty ugly.

It's a start I guess.

endoKarb - 41,918,750 - ALL - Tateha - [2/6] - Mame 0.173

Starting to get into the swing of things.

Bumped into a bullet for no reason on the Train boss, then no missed everything all the way to the end before losing one life on each of the last three attacks. I even forgot to get the big cancel on the final attack. :(

Scoring-wise, my stage 1 is still awful and I'm not doing any of the bomb tricks. I'm still playing 5-1 mostly for survival, and scored really bad on the Alice clones.

If I fix those mistakes and stop dying on Jakou 50 mil should not be too hard to get.

At this rate, I won’t be interested into shmups anymore. I am no longer going to be active in this forum from now on. I am more interested into Kemono Friends, rhythm games, D4DJ, Puzzle Games, Hololive, and Pretty Cure.

Proud of the effort it took to finally clear this game, even if I missed every possible score trick! Maybe using Tateha made it 'harder' but after a while all my muscle-memories depended on her spread shot.

Sadly I've gotten nowhere with this game. I've gotten nowhere with anything lately.

Tateha is waaaaay easier and actually a little better at the game. I don't know why people swear that Ageha's at all easier or better, he's not.
