Damn fine album! It's a compilation of synth songs from 1980's South Africa artists.

Re: What are you currently listening to?
That's my favourite Waits album
Remasters make my fell nervous though, in case someone pulls some "Directors cut" nonsense.
Also, I'm still listening to Salah Ragab and the Cairo Jazz Band Presents Egyptian Jazz, thanks, soprano1

Re: What are you currently listening to?
Sure. I love jazz with Saharan/African or Middle Eastern rhythms, for the lack of a better word. Egypt apparently had a bunch of cool synth artists in the 70's, which is funny for some reason.Zen wrote:That's my favourite Waits album

Latest album by local black metal mainstays Forteresse, Thèmes pour la Rébellion
Never got around to it for some reason, but tabarnak... I'm floored... epic as fuck, frost-bitten and furiously fast. Fucking makes you feel as if you were on top of a mountain and challenging the Gods, ya know? This is phenomenal. Fans of the old melodic swedish black metal band Dissection owe it to themselves to check this out

I never heard about that before. He didn't? All I've heard about it is with regards to Bowie's (and Ronson's) work on the album, which he (at least claims to) really admires.
Re: What are you currently listening to?
Heard it on a BBC doc from 2013, sometime after his death. Well, it doesn't really matter, I like it.Sumez wrote:I never heard about that before. He didn't? All I've heard about it is with regards to Bowie's (and Ronson's) work on the album, which he (at least claims to) really admires.

Re: What are you currently listening to?
So, I'm really digging Judas Priest's new album, Firepower, particularly the later songs on it. Traitors Gate, Flame Thrower, Spectre, and Sea of Red are fantastic.
In addition, I'm losing my shit over the album Thunder in the East by Loudness, and I'm amazed that I'd not heard of them until yesterday. It's so good.

Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Was really impressed by a song my buddy posted from the newest Judas Priest record. Gonna go listen to the whole album now. Will give a go to Loudness toonull1024 wrote:So, I'm really digging Judas Priest's new album, Firepower, particularly the later songs on it. Synthwave artist FM-84's DJ set from Steven Spielberg’s official “Ready Player One” SXSW event. Very cool choices from recent synthwave artists, as well as great hits from the 80's. He even included Stan Bush's Touch song from the Transformers movie.

You're sure to be in a fine haze about now, but don't think too hard about all of this. Just go out and kill a few beasts. It's for your own good. You know, it's just what hunters do! You'll get used to it.

Re: What are you currently listening to?
Couple of cool OG coldwave/synthpop songs I discovered.
Robert Görl - Mit Dir (1983) very nice synth sounds in this one
Deux - Game And Performance (1983) very haunting man-machine feel. this track is unreal!

The OST to Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes on the Sega MegaDrive. I think this was a Japan-only release. Digging the music so far, though.
