Soldner-X series
Soldner-X series
What do you guys think of that series? I have the first, didn’t try it yet, and I’m considering getting the sequel along with its final chapter DLC.

Re: Soldner-X series
I only finished the second game.
I kinda like the soundtrack, minus the fact that the song switches when you're at low HP. The fact that it has voice acting is pretty cool.
Though once you add up every stage in the game (once they're all unlocked) it's over an hours worth for a single play-through. Maybe they should've divided it into episodes Tyrian style?

It got a proper PS Vita cartridge release courtesy of Play-Asia some time back + support for both Vita TV & PS TV micro consoles as well.

Re: Soldner-X series
I personally consider Soldner X 2 an absolute classic as far as modern day shooters go. It is such a leap from part 1 in terms of fun, variety, visuals AND THAT MUSIC. It really gets the blood pumping.
I'm astounded that the Vita version is pretty much the same experience as the PS3 version.
Bring on Soldner X3!!!

The first one is good.
The second one is rubbish.
THE END.

THE END.
Re: Soldner-X series
I’ve been considering playing and beating both. If anyone’s getting part 2, whatever you do, don’t forget about the final chapter DLC.

Re: Soldner-X series
The Play Asia Vita cartridge release of Soldner-X has all the DLC included -- so no need to d/l anything more.

I consider the first one an average game. Although fun, mixes good times with others not so good.
The second one is an amazing horizontal shmup. The gameplay is very tasty and fun and the soundtrack is very well crafted and engaging. The game becomes even better when you acquire the expansion "The Last Chapter" that adds more 3 great stages, especially the stage nine that is a huge battleship, paying tribute to the classic R-Type.

Re: Soldner-X series
The Last Chapter DLC is mandatory for me, without it the second game isn't complete. It's the same thing like the DLC pack for "A Shadow Falls" with Street Fighter V.
Re: Soldner-X series
I can't believe this. You mean you need to find the secret keys in order to get the true ending for both games? I fucking raged quit at that.
Re: Soldner-X series
I seriously hope the second game isn't as unforgiving as the first, because the first game seriously doesn't fuck around, even on the lower difficulties.
Re: Soldner-X series
in the first, you need them to have access to the final level (5th).xxx1993 wrote:I can't believe this. You mean you need to find the secret keys in order to get the true ending for both games? I fucking raged quit at that.
in the second, you need them to access all later levels (5th/6th... final).
in soldner-x these keys are always in the same place for you to get, which is ok.
however, in Soldner-x 2 some of them are dependent on luck, and most often you won't get them and the credit will end abruptly. fucking awful stupid design.
Re: Soldner-X series
But what about the DLC pack for the second game? You don't need to collect keys for that one, right?

Re: Soldner-X series
What? You're not gonna tell me personally? That's what it said on Wikipedia. I heard the sequel is supposed to be easier than the first, considering how hard the first game was... On a side note, is Soldner-X related to the Soldner games? That's what GameFAQs says, but I don't see any resemblance.
