The others all follow the same pattern, I haven't really played them much, but IV is a really fun title.

Gurume Sentai Barayarou SFC

I really hadn't heard much about this brawler but I've been buying SFC brawlers lately and had forgotten how good it was for brawlers. It's not bad but I kind of prefer Ghost Chaser densei a little more thus far.

Bought a few other games lately but will need to look through what I have.

Holy fuck, nice pickup - looks in great shape! :o (I'd forgotten about the big tits front and center too ). I never really got into Japan-exclusive SFC beltscrolling, but that one always interested me. Macaw and JoshF had some intriguing posts on movesets and seemingly arcane "food mechanics" over at gamengai.

Oh hang on, is that the BlazePro reissue? Had no idea about it until just now, haha. Went and looked up the devs cause I could swear I heard it involved Cho Aniki (or at least Masaya) peeps. Certainly looks the part at least, some rather buff muscle boys to go with the big AZN tits in there. Something for everybody, like. ;3

Feeling quite nostalgic about when they used to post regularly, and perhaps a bit neglected that you hadn't! Oh the good old days. Macaw was pretty passionate not only about games but his posts in general. There was a great analysis of J-porn somewhere in the mix there.

It is indeed a reprint for gurume. I had no idea that it was selling for top dollar these days. Is it actually 'rare' or just we're seeing the price being pushed up?

Recently I've been interested in playing SFC brawlers as that's a genre that's good fun to play with a mate and never really goes out of fashion :)

I quite like gurume thus far for its artwork and design and level of madness. Also, the botty twirl and the 'village people' inspired macho pouting works for me too :D

Nice one - congrats on getting it. It's on the the top of my Famicom wants for years - I missed two auctions for a good price, otherwise it's just way too overpriced and I'm not willing to spend an absurd ammount for it. One day I will get it also 8) .

I've been waiting for auctions for too long :\ It's not gonna get any cheaper.

I made quick action as it was up via a European seller, and saving the taxes and customs fee for a purchase like this makes up a lot of money.

Not a particularly "awesome" thing, but damn, I was completely convinced that I finally managed to get duped on eBay when I got this one.

The plastic shell for Don Doko Don 2 is the cheapest looking thing I've ever seen for a Famicom game, with the cartridge just sliding around completely loose inside it, it was practically screaming "bootleg". I tried taking some pictures that show it off.
It's especially a stark contrast of the super nice box that Bubble Bobble 2 came in. Since both are late era Taito games, I'd expect them to be similar.

However, looking around at what I could find on the internet, all pictures of that game look similar, and after looking into my own collection I actually found another Taito game with exactly the same box (some board game)... I'm pretty surprised though :O

Yeah, it looks good, very different from the original.
I very rarely hear people talk about it though, so I'm guessing it might easily be a dud.

I've seen claims that it's developed by Natsume (which I guess is very likely), but I can't see a lot of sources on it. Of course they also did that Jetson's game, and that's pretty terrible.

Near mint TG16 - still had the protective plastic on the 2x TG16 logos. Never had one of these growing up but everybody seems to rave about them so I ordered the SSD3 and sourced one of these locally. Excited to try it out for the first time since like 1990 when I played one at my buddies house.

Quite a find on that super minty TG-16 console there, Docchartaigh. Yeah, Toys-R-Us was selling their remaining NOS TG-16 console inventory for a mere $29.99 USD back in December of 1993 (but the Turbo Duo console was still being sold at the regular MSRP of $299.99). It wouldn't be until 1994 that some American game retailers would end up selling their leftover Turbo Duo console inventory at the rock bottom price of $99.99 USD rather than at the MSRP offering. Heck, even the USA-based TRU stores were selling brand new copies of TTI's Magical Chase for a mere $19.99 USD back in February of 1994. Those were the days to get 'em TG-16 & Turbo Duo hardware + accompanying software all on the cheap. If you knew where to look, some new TG-16 Turbo Chip + TTI Super CD-Rom2 games were been sold for a mere $5 a pop brand new in the 1994 year timeline -- you just had to be at the right place at the right time to score in on those crazy "cheap-ass" deals though. Of course, those days are long gone never to be repeated again. At some American TRU stores, they were still selling their remaining Turbo Duo consoles at the asking $299.99 USD MSRP back in February of 1995.

The American-based direct mail order business by the name of Gametronic was selling their remaining NEC Turbo Express portable gaming systems for a mere $99.99 USD each back in February of 1995 (they came with an original MSRP of $299.99 USD back in January of 1991 during it's grand debut in the USA).

Back in October of 1990, I was talking with a NEC factory rep and he said that the TE was going to be on sale at retailers nationwide in December of 1990 and sell for the asking price of $249.99 USD but that really wasn't the case. It wasn't until January of 1991, that I saw the uber-rare TEs being sold at the more expensive MSRP of $299.99 instead (due to limited retailer distribution and the extensive manufacturing process that went into making each one + supply and demand for them). It sported the latest state-of-the-art TFT-based active matrix LCD screen that Epson of Japan made at the current time and NEC of Japan used 'em in manufacturing the TEs (hence the higher retail price for one, of course). I even had the rare chance to try out a TE with a copy of Devil's Crush up & running at a Halloween TurboGrafx-16 promo event. It was quite cool to play and marvel at the razor-sharp TFT-based LCD screen (much better imo than the Atari Lynx's LCD screen setup any ol' day easily or even the orignal GB's B&W LCD screen setup).

Thanks. I'm just excited to get in Bonk's Adventure HuCard (or Turbocard or whatever it was called in the US?) – either today or tomorrow; and I ordered a couple of the slide-on no-solder pins I can shove onto the back of the TG16's expansion port to tap into composite while I wait for the RGB goodness of the SSD3 to arrive (as I don't even have a TV to plug the original RF cable into).

Composite is supposed to be excellent on the TG16 I read + the advanced comb filters and such of my PVM/BVM's should tide me over until the SSD3 with RGB output comes in. Don't think I'll buy any other physical games for the TG16 with the prices they go for anymore (I'll save that money for re-buying all the games I used to have for the NES/Genesis/SNES - those are the systems I had growing up) - but I wanted at least ONE single original game for the TG16 (and picked the one my buddy had back in the day and we played quite often).

If you happen to see any Avenue Pad 3 controllers in good condition please let me know - I'm looking for 1 or 2 and I don't feel like buying ~30 year old questionable condition ones from Japan for like $30/each! (returns may be difficult with me in the USA ;) Had the TurboTap delivered last night and along with those pins ordered the correct DIN plug to convert the PC Engine controllers over to USA plugs (instead of using those cord extenders which I don't care for).

The NEC Turbo Stick joystick controller (with the appropriate bigger 8-Din plug interface) works like a charm on the TG-16 console. It has built-in adjustable slider-type auto-fire for buttons I & II + slo-mo functionality. How cool is that? Plus the actual joystick is silent & non-clicky. I've used it quite extensively ever since I got one new back in 1994 for a mere $24.99 from Turbo Zone Direct (a mail-order based business selling both TG-16, Turbo Duo & PC Engine hardware/software).

You know, I really hate how Dropbox nixed direct image linking/posting.

Anyhow, my recent-ish pickups (as in, got all of this just last week):

A SNES Mini from the wife for Valentine's Day.
A copy of Bayonetta 2 (Switch Version) and Galaxy Fight (Neo Geo AES version).

Perhaps a bit esoteric, but I got this siiiick figure of my favorite anti-hero, The Oily Maniac today. From one of the more bonkers, non-martial arts Shaw Bros. films. Still can't believe they made a figure of him. It's like they knew what I always wanted. Can't believe I haven't gotten laid tonight yet with all the babes presumably fawning over it.

Haha! Man, I really love ANGRY monsters that destroy everything. Like, Godzilla and friends destroy stuff when it's in their way due to their size, but I like it when they're just pissed. Like when the Creature runs amok on land in Revenge of the Creature from the Black Lagoon. He just starts smashing boxes and flipping cars and stuff 'cause he's PISSED. Or APE from, uh... APE when he throws a helicopter against a mountain and then flips it off! Probably the angriest monster.
