The motherfucker could tear it up.

Thus exits the last of the classic Motorhead trio, roughly two years to the passings of Lemmy and Philthy. God speed chaps. Image

Peter Wyngarde has died aged 90.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-42731220

I guess he's best remembered as Jason King, but he was also in a number of classic British tv shows like The Prisoner and Dr. Who. He was also Klytus in Flash Gordon... and he recorded a pretty out here album in the 70's.

Wow, here's a shocker for me.

Jeremy Inkel, foremost of the band Left Spine Down, but more importantly to me, he also joined Front Line Assembly in 2005, and played a big role on the subsequent album Artificial Soldier, which I consider a surprisingly fresh return to form for the band, with Inkel's influence being a very strong part of that.

Apparently he died 11 days ago at the absurdly young age of 34, "due to complications with asthma". I have a feeling there might be more to the story, but I don't feel like commenting on that.

Simon Shelton, guy who played Tinky Winky on the Teletubbies, died at 53. Allegedly collapsed in the street and hypothermia got him.

I was in the angsty teenager demographic rather than the target dumb baby or harried parent ones in the show's late-90s heyday, like a lot of us here I'm sure, but it's still all a bit sad. D: I hate to think of anyone dying like that.

Mort Walker, creator of Beetle Bailey, Hi and Lois, Sam's Strip and a number of other successful newspaper comic strips, died yesterday from pneumonia at 94 years of age.

I used to read the Swedish Beetle Bailey magazine a lot back in the day. Still occasionally read old issues.

Stephen Hawking died.

Of all the deaths in the last two years, I think this one is the only one that made my jaw drop on reaction.

Guess we won't be hearing his synthesized voice anymore... Man, I remember him being mentioned by Juliet Starling in Lollipop Chainsaw ("Quit making fun of Stephen Hawking, he's a great man!") and one of his quotes about artificial intelligence was even read by Haru Shinkai in one of the final episodes of Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters.

I’m serious. Maybe because his health was failing that this was probably one of the reasons why it closed down... I know certain things that end prematurely when their creators die.
