The 29th? Is the 28th - 29th a double shmupmeet weekend? The hype!!

I gotta see if I can make it out on Sunday that weekend, can't confirm yet. :(

Looking that way, although sadly I will have to miss yet another Guelph meet, Halloween drum and bass business going down night of the 28th, so I need to stay in town

I will make it there one day

Been learning for a few years now. I like to practice whenever I can even though I'm trash. I'll definitely let you know when I visit. Shame my mandarin skills will be useless in hk

Ah yeah! 8)

Thanks again for all those runs last time Per. I'm playing a lot better after watching how you dealt with the trickier spots, and switched to strong mode, aha. First run on it since Sunday last night and I no missed to the 4th boss and died once beating it, did ok up until those f$*£ing laser bitches, shit the bed and died on the last laser section like a chump. But I continued and beat the last boss with 2 lives, so I think a clear is well at hand. Strong mode is definitely easier than bomb though, so easy to get hypers, espeically on the 4th and 5th stages. Feels good to be playing again

See you guys then

Np, had lots of fun playing it! :D I’m really looking forward to playing it again at the next meet! Oh sweet, sounds like you’re really close to getting a clear then. I used to have a route for the laser wheels on BL but it’s been so long now that I don’t fully remember it. I’ll boot up the port this weekend and try and see if I can refresh my memory. Would be nice to try and loop 1.5!

Awesome!!! I’ll be there!
jonny5 wrote: Been working on Judge Dredd but not even coming close to Per's scores
Damn, it seemed to me like the most important things for score are: a) stock up on extra balls b) Try to level up the phases as quickly as possible since those will increase the bonus that you get from the missions (IIRC) c) Hit the multiplier before triggering multiball so you get 2x the jackpots d) of course completing all missions will give a huge bonus as well so if you have a multiplier at that time then that will add a lot to the score.

Getting the multiplier was a bit risky though I remember since it was located in a tricky spot where you can easily loose the ball, that’s also where those extra balls come in handy and for the tougher/riskier missions. It tried to do the riskier missions first so that I can restart if I mess up but I discovered that they loop so you’ll eventually need the extra balls for the loops.

Really looking forward to playing it again :D DFK is always a good time as well!

Ya, I was working on it the other night. I was starting to get the extra balls, but not consistently like you were, and still getting the hang of things. Broke 100million, but no where near a billion yet, haha. Also, starting to use the table bump to save things as well, which does help, but need to get used to doing it more, as I am screwing up half the time when I do it. Really wish you could lock the view as well, keep hitting that damn button by mistake as well. Need to watch you some more I think. 8)

See you guys Sunday

Gotta bail on this one. I woke up at 2:30 throwing up like crazy and haven't been able to fall back asleep. Not sure if something I ate yesterday didn't sit well or if I've got a touch of a stomach bug. In case it's contagious I'd hate to spread it around. :/

Damn, sounds like a plan to rest up and take it easy. I’ll leave the DC at home then, next time.

@jonny5 Do you have a wire stripper and three fork terminals that look like this? If so then I could bring my HAS and a stick and we could test it out on Uo Poko or something :D Due to the renovations here at home everything’s been put away so haven’t had a chance to test it out yet. I’m throwing away the HDTV btw :P

I'm sure I have some terminal type deals in a drawer, although perhaps not those exact ones, but shouldn't matter. Worst case we just connect direct and try it with snow bros first, aha

Hope you feel better BKR, there has definitely been a bug going around, hit my work like a storm, people off sick left and right. I had it a few weeks ago for a couple days. Take it easy and relax, should work its way hit through in a couple days.

Many thanks for hosting, had an awesome time as always! Thanks to Brendz for providing the fork terminals and for helping out with the HAS assembly! Really happy that it was so easy to get it up and running and that it looked so nice on the Commodore monitor. Was super cool to try it out.

Damn man, DFK 1.5 is such a fun game... Really looking forward to playing it again! Had a great time playing Last Action Hero as well.

Great fun as always! Well impressed with your HAS, really slick little setup!

Hope to see the DFK 2 loop clear next time!

Let's do it again in a couple weeks on the 17th, let me know if the date is an issue

17th works for me! The HAS was really easy to bring so I can bring it next time as well. Will bring two sticks this time and Hyper Street Fighter 2, would like to try it out with the kick harness.

It's funny, just realized a week today will be a decade on the forum for me, with about a year spent lurking before I registered and started posting.

I still remember the first meet, with udderdude and malik11, pretty sure Khoa came out too

Time flies
