Great to see this back! I thought it was lost to the sands of time. That Yngwie Malmsteen cover is one of the greatest things I have ever seen. I mean, it's very Spinal Tap...but damn..it looks like a video game cover, from the Atari days.

Image

I don't really like this kind of music, but this cover is totally righteous.

The rarely seen, "uncropped" version of The Real Thing. They need to start getting this on the current CDs.

Fields of the Nephilim: For Her Light - a single but still.

Image

I have the full sized poster of this and pretty much every format it was released on.
Elizium - the album the single is taken from is a top five favourite album of mine.

Skinny Puppy: Too Dark Park.

Image

TDP is one of my top five favourite albums too.

Always makes me smile, this one. Makes me think of Bagpuss.

Stark and sadly beautiful.

Shabba Ranks - XTRA NAKED

Stark and extra naked. (Suddenly I wonder if my favourite N64 boxart Hybrid Heaven was influenced at all)

Master P - The Ghettos Tryin To Kill Me!

A rambunctious yet succinct expression of its gangsta theme. And just funny to look at too. Watch out, Master P!

Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible
Spoiler

Brutal. Tracklist on front (complete with Faux Cyrillic and second song title's grammatical error) is a bit unfortunate, but at least they're good tracknames.

Joy Division - The Best Of

Perfect imho Image

I adore H&H's LP cover, particularly its understated tone and crisp colours against jet black. I totally ballsed up not including it with Mob Rules tbh. 3:

Funny how the next record was Born Again. Whose sleeve I like too, but for rather differing reasons. Of the remaining 80s discography, Headless Cross's cover is pretty nice too I think.

I always found this cover to be so bizarre.

Probably because Robert didn't choose the cover. It's so "un-Cure".

Also, that Master P cover is incredible.

Something about this cover always spoke to me. Not quite safe for work.

Could have had something to do with age some of us were when seeing it for the first time. Nowadays, I can tell it's a pretty good photography. I would like to know who took it.
I also remember the "parental advisory - explicit lyrics" label featuring on the version I saw.

The artwork is nice.

I love the whole satanic thing and anything to piss the parents off attitude back in the 70s - early 90s.

I think this is a really beautiful cover, so it irritates me that sometimes there is weird censoring of it (usually a wrapper around the sleeve).

Ah well.

I know these are girls (at least most), but I always think of a bunch of miniature Robert Plants.

Funny that at this age you can never know for certain. I read that it says something like "Wallflowers Society", but couldnt track down any album. Also, the format is weird for a album cover, i suppose it is some kind of a box.

Well, I'll put one more that is worth
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven

Fits the album pretty well. I've always had fun remembering that a friend of mine used to be afraid of the album, and the cover can capture that nostalgic mysterious feel. It makes look like the album was made by some kind of old work of witchcraft.

I kind of want to buy this album on vinyl and frame it. Not that I don't want to listen to it, but I do love that cover.

Love it.

This cover is pretty awesome. Love the expression, with the blurred out eyes. Just an interesting piece, all together.

love the At The Heart Of Winter cover.
Incidently, it is my fave Immortal album. Sons Of Northern Darkness comes close, but no cigar.

Of all the Black Metal bands I have listened to, Immortal is actually the one that sounds the "coldest". Strong, brave, epic and frostbitten.
The music of conquerors, marching forward deep in the winter and spilling hot blood with ice-cold blades.

Always liked that Human League cover
Nicely disturbing. their early work, before they went full on hit-seeking, was some very dark and moody synthpo/coldwave. Interesting stuff
