Saturn Model 1 and RGB ?
OK, I get my saturn today. Model 1 jp, 1994 (first release)
Video out is working well with RCA yellow cable. But when I connect my RGB cable (CSync, EURO) to my OSSC, the screen is very very dark. I can only seen some lines or letters. (but it works, yes).
Do you have an idea ?

You have the proper cable?
Which cable do you use?
There is some difference between PAL/NTSC and also between Version 1/2 of the Saturn.

Saturn model is clear, NTSC-J model 1
What cable do you use, where did you buy it?
Can you also test the cable when connected directly to a scart input of your TV?

Dear PascalP,
Thank you for your reply !
I use a C-Sync RGB cable from www.retrogamingcables.co.uk
I tried the cable with an other saturn, same model but made in 1995. It worked.
the actual model is working only with RCA for now (directly connected to the TV).
My LCD doesn't accept RGB input. Then I have to use OSSC. OSSc works perfectly with other systems and last saturn model.

Re: Saturn Model 1 and RGB ?
Unlike most posters here, I have no technical expertise, so please take my words as the result of my personal experience.
- Since it's a Model 1 Saturn... As stupid as it sounds, are you sure the cable is perfectly connected, and pushed in completely? I owned a grey Saturn too, ages ago, and I remember having all kinds of video issues with my third party RGB cable, only to discover that it needed to be pushed in with a bit more energy, compared to the official SEGA composite cable. After that, it worked fine.
- That said, I also had major problems with my current Model 2 white Saturn and two different RGB Csync cables, I bought from retrogamingcables.co.uk. The picture was slightly darker than normal, not as saturated as it should've been, and terribly ruined by horizontal banding and color aberrations. I tested those cables everywhere, from consumer Trinitron CRTs, to full HD TVs, with no luck. I've been told - once again, I couldn't prove it right or wrong by opening up my console and double checking myself - that some Saturn boards aren't compatible with/enabled for Csync signal. I then bought an Euro Scart RGB cable (sync on composite, I believe?) and that worked perfectly. I recently tested it with the OSSC on a 4K monitor, no problem on there either.
- Edit - Just for precision's sake... I gave those two Csync cables to two different NTSC-J Saturn owners. The newer one worked just fine, while the first one required some wiring/soldering work on the cable itself, in order to get a picture out of it (I think I can get back in contact with the guy with more specific questions, if that helps).

Re: Saturn Model 1 and RGB ?
Looks like an issue with your Saturn model, either it is faulty or it does not work correctly with csync like Galdelico experienced.
Could you try it with a composite video sync cable instead?

Re: Saturn Model 1 and RGB ?
If you are able to open your Saturn, you could look at the solder points underneath the video connector. On the Mega Drive the soldering joints break often and can stop RGB from working correctly. I don't know if the Saturn has the same problem or not.

Re: Saturn Model 1 and RGB ?
mimy, I bet you need a cable with Luma sync, I had the same problem. I talked with retro_console_accessories and she told me a lot of saturn's have trouble with CSYNC.
I Think that was also the problem you had in your other thread. (only one of my model 2's works with CSYNC)
the symptom is a streaky dark picture, try a Luma sync cable if you get a chance.
