Sorry, I just think a Darius "Box Set" is not complete w/o a re-mastered or re-performed/arranged line-up of tracks from Darius Force...

Still gonna get it though because I don't have Darius 2 and Gaiden soundtracks.

How much is 12,800 yen? Hopefully not too much :(

And it's only recently I've heard of Zuntata; what other soundtracks did they work on that are outstanding? I really like the soundtrack in Rayforce, which I hear is Zuntata's.

OSTs for all Ray-games were done by Zuntata member Tamayo Kawamoto.

Good news, as the single OSTs, if you have the time and patience to track down copies on ebay (well, better if you do it on yahoo.jp) would usually cost about 40 $ each (and they're obviously second-hand). Shame they didn't add the various remixed albums, Darius II has some marvelous orchestral rearrangements

"Zuntata" is taito's internal music label, except for no more than three titles, they did all the Taito OSTs. Most of the time, one composer did the OST for a single game, in some cases there have been collaborations though (uhm, one example: Pulirula is a collaboration between Yack and Karu). Just to know: Zun-ta-ta is an honomatopeia for rythmic drumming (of the fingers, i suppose).

When EXMaster reported on this, I noticed this quote in the description...

"DVD with (at least) some exclusive interviews, a "super special gimmick" (sic) and a "secret must-have item". "

Must-have item...? What, two or three tracks from a Darius-in-progress? I'm sure the set is called Rebirth for SOME reason...

It will be 20 years since the first Darius, in 2006. You may never know...

The Lowdown :
- 4 CDs, being Darius II, Darius Gaiden, G-Darius and a visual disc (This is probably the anticipated OGR Interview DVD).

- The Original Darius OST in Vinyl Record/LP Format !

- DVD also appears to contain video recordings of the Zuntata performance(and hopefully other bands too) of the Game Music Festival of 1993 which were previously unreleased(at least in video form) !

Just a few corrections:

1. There is no LP, instead it's a miniature LP case and the CD disguised as an LP.

2. It's the GMF 92 performnaces, not 93. My bad.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm pulling all the stops to pre-order this asap. Hint: Keep an eye on CocoeBiz ( http://www.cocoebiz.com ), as it will be available for pre-order there. And with shipping added in the end, expect it to come around to 150~160$. The OGR DVD will likely answer lots of questions regarding his carreer at Taito, here's hoping they'll be an option for english subtitles. *wishful thinking*

This can only be good news for all of us Darius fans :)

That price tag is a little high though...

And why no tracks from Twin or Force? Ah well, I still have my SPCs o_O

Because they were developed by external companies, and thus no OGR/Zuntata for the soundtrack.

I resurrect this old thread because it seems the most developed about the Darius Premium Box ~Re-Birth~ (ZTMD-0001~0005) which I just bought on ebay for 82 USD. :D

I'd like to hear more impressions about the Darius Visual Disc. Also, do the soundtracks include the arrangement tracks which were present in the original stand-alone releases?

[edit:] doesn't matter, I found tracklist.

DARIUS PREMIUM BOX-REBIRTH-

DISC-1 (DARIUS)

 1:INSERT COIN
 2:CAPTAIN NEO(宇宙洞窟)
 3:BOSS SCENE 1
 4:INORGANIC BEAT(都市地帯)
 5:BOSS SCENE 2
 6:COSMIC AIR WAY(山岳地帯)
 7:BOSS SCENE 3
 8:MAIN THEME-CHAOS(バンアレンベルト)
 9:BOSS SCENE 4
10:THE SEA(海底基地)
11:BOSS SCENE 5
12:BOSS SCENE 6
13:BOSS SCENE 7
14:BOSS CLEAR
15:CREDITS
16:REQUIEM
17:GAME OVER

DISC-2 (DARIUS II)

 1:OPENING
 2:COIN
 3:OLGA BREEZE[太陽シーン]
 4:MUSE VALLEY[水星シーン]
 5:JAMMING[金星シーン]
 6:WAR OH ![ボスシーン1]
 7:ROUND CLEAR
 8:Cynthia[月シーン]
 9:Planet Blue[地球シーン]
10:BOSS 2[ボスシーン2]
11:To Nari[火星シーン]
12:say PaPa[木星シーン]
13:ALL CLEAR
14:NAME SET
15:ENDING

DISC-3 (DARIUS外伝)

 1:VISIONNERZ〜幻視人〜
 2:Burst Out
 3:INDUCTION
 4:E・E・G
 5:AXON
 6:投影
 7:FAKE
 8:Singing in the BRAIN
 9:Tranquilizer
10:SELF
11:Refrain
12:name
13:end titles
14:over

DISC-4 (G-DARIUS)

 1:B・T・DUTCH
 2:NETWORK
 3:EPISODE 0
 4:G・ZERO
 5:PHAGE
 6:biophoton
 7:Dada
 8:One Down
 9:H・G・Virus
10:invivo
11:nonsensecodon
12:KIMERA II
13:Adam
14:Duplication
15:未来完了from7

Amazing - they managed to remove every single remix track that was present in the single OST releases. Pretty disappointing

sounds terrific - I'd think about it. The DVD is probably the most interesting thing though.
Why didn't they include a dead fish in the box tho? That would be genius :(
Alas, Ikaruga is going...

Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?

Saw this a few weeks ago, I guess Mr. Turricano bought the first copy I saw! Not bad, but a bit steep...I woulda sprung for the Darius Gaiden OST myself. Art on the package is the same as that on the LP release of Darius, way back when, but seems cut down (and obscured, too, by that ugly white text on the cover) here.

I guess this isn't your day to have a thing called "tuna sashimi" ! Gotta be fresh though.

Dunno, I bought it from an Australian seller. Yeah, it's not cheap, but still cheaper than the price it used to go for on play-asia. Plus I got the Dragon Saber ost from the same guy so I really can't complain :)

btw, welcome to the forums Ed. I may have posted once or twice on the CVD forum ^_^

Meant to post a bit ago, but after I bug-fixed my last post the connection here at campus went out. Yeah, that is one nice set, and I daresay I'm a bit envious.

I had some pictures of the Darius LP online but apparently pulled them a while back, but I'll put them back up and maybe we can compare notes on what's different in this set once you get it (the cover is pretty much the same). I did see the pictures in the auction, but I had a feeling there was more print material that I couldn't see :)

I got this from CDJapan back when it first came out, and never regretted it. It's a really lovely set, though its appeal is a bit limited - it's really only worth the dough if you're a VGM fanatic or a die-hard Darius fan.

Re: the Visual Disc contents...
The Gaiden replay is the same as the one on the Darius Gaiden - The Last Kiss - video, though it runs as one long stream instead of being sandwiched between live-action movie segments. (I have GOT to post about that video sometime, because it is some CRAAAAAAAAAZY shit.) It's a really nice replay though, well worth watching. The original Darius replay isn't quite as good due to the quality of the source and the pan-and-scanning throughout, which is rather distracting.

The OGR interviews on the disc are great, though they probably won't do anything for you if you don't know Japanese.

Sound quality on the CD themselves is fan-fucking-tastic, though, and that's the best thing about the set IMO. Darius I and II never sounded so good before!

The pen actually feels kinda cheap IMO. I would have preferred, say, a little PVC King Fossil figure or something like that.

Well, It took a while but eventually arrived, and I must confirm Devil REI's impressions. I'm not even an huge Darius fan, but the music sure is nice and the package sweet. So if you still want to compare the mini LP to your photos, feel free to drop a pm! :)

The mini LP seems like a pretty faithful reproduction, it even comes with a sort of removable obi strip.
