Picked up a JVC AV-32320 last night. I ordered a SCART to Component YPbPr converter but for now I'm using s-video.....and it already impresses me. Even using s-video it might be sharper than my PVM14-N6U and it's over twice as big. That 700 line count on the JVC really shines, I'm very happy with it. Can't wait to see what it looks like being able to use my SCART cables. On a side note it is at least 40 lbs lighter than the 32" Trinitron I had before and the overall dimensions are slightly smaller so it fits in my cabinet without pinching my fingers to get it in there LOL. The geometry is also better and I haven't even adjusted it yet, very happy to find this locally for almost nothing.

Oddly enough your photo looks very similar to my Cave :D
Do you store electronic components in those drawers too?
Yes, I have a small 'lab' there which I use to do electronics (gaming and hobby projects).
Here is some kind of room tour if you are interested http://ra.livejournal.com/7141.html
(it's a pain to translate everything at the moment, but there are some photos and vids)
Yes, I am the same and my Cave serves as a lab too.
You remind me: I need to get a scart plexor box.

Cheers.

I mean really any of those three could be a shmup boss

I think I'll call that my Christmas present to myself for the year, though, so I won't open it until I get back home after Christmas. Got a whole bunch of stuff to get done before then anyway!
My 1CCs so I can find the list easier myself

Just bought another BVM this time which I got for a real good price ! the BVM-20F1E came with a second analog board installed which is nice to hook up another console.
the picture is almost as good as on the BVM-D32.
I spent some time calibrating it but it was worth :D

Got my Garegga2016 box, it's beautiful! That's Let it Die in background, which I'll probably be playing more of instead of setting up a JP PSN account

Been waiting for this all week! Can't wait to get it hooked up and play some games tonight after work.
I have friday and next monday off work, very glad to get this before my extended weekend for some much needed downtime.
Image

EDIT: I got to use it for a couple hours last night, and am very happy with it! My pictures are taken with a cellphone and are kinda crappy, but I wanted to post a few just to give people a general idea of what to expect. These pictures are taken playing the games on a JVC AV-32320 consumer level CRT. Comparing it to s-video the colors are MUCH brighter and more vivid, I had to turn the brightness on my TV way down from where it was. I also adjusted the gamma on the TV, looking at it now maybe I made it too dark...lol. I was also able to turn the color up higher in the menu since the colors didn't bleed using this converter like they did with s-video.

Mostly Christmas stuff, though Doom, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and the Mega Man Amiibo were bought after Christmas.

TwinBee, Kenshin, DC, and the X-Men all on one shelf? That's more overlap than one would expect from fans of those franchises.

Putting Wario in front of the Garfield books wasn't intentional. :)

You mean the TV? No, it's a LCD. The lighter grey part of the border is actually from the game itself.

It's P4 1.5GHz / 500MB RAM / Geforce2 Mx 200 / Win XP.
Kaillera's Mame32 Plus Plus v0.119 was the only build which gave me decent performance on this hardware. I sometimes experience framedrop in Batrider and Burning Force, but overall it is OK enough to play Air Gallet, ESP Ra De and bunch of older shmups, as well as couple of other Capcom and Namco titles. Haven't noticed input lag tho. Anyway, really happy to have these games on my CRT playable in their native resolution.

just found time to install an scsi2sd and a Voodoo 5 pci in my Amiga 1200T. it took me almost 3 days to reinstall the entire amigaOS on it. hopefully the scsi2sd will last forever.
still not finished with the installation yet. I would like to enjoy some midi tunes on it as well soon

Picked up a handful of games this weekend. Pretty decent local finds, been wanting to revisit those Tiny Toon games for awhile now (lots of nostalgia for me). Found a pretty good lot of Game Gear games too;

Game Gear - Ninja Gaiden, Tails Adventure, Sonic Triple Trouble, Bust-a-move.
PS1 - Point Blank w/Guncon
SNES - Actraiser
Genesis - Tiny Toon - Buster's hidden treasure
NES - Tiny Toon 2 - Trouble in wackyland

I also found a copy of Phantasy Star Online Ep1&2 for Gamecube, but he was asking $100 and I wasn't ready to bite that bullet. Looking at ebay now I'm glad I didn't...there's a ton for sale for $50-55 LOL
