480i flicker - marvel vs. capcom 2 - ps2 - on BVMD32E1WU
I have MvC2 on PS2 running through RGB cable to a Sony BVM-D32E1WU. The display shows the signal is 480/60 I. As a result I'm seeing some flicker, presumably from the interlaced video. It's not that noticeable, but slightly annoying. Any suggestions for possible workarounds?

Run it through a deinterlacer, or sit farther back.

Does the PS2 have HomeBrew programs like Swiss that can change resolutions?

You're looking for GS Mode Selector, though because of the way most PS2 games are made, it doesn't have a high success rate. I don't think 240p is supported as an option either.GeneraLight wrote:Does the PS2 have HomeBrew programs like Swiss that can change resolutions?

Maybe force 480i PS2 games to run in 480p then.bobrocks95 wrote:You're looking for GS Mode Selector, though because of the way most PS2 games are made, it doesn't have a high success rate. Thanks for the replies, accroding to this list, with some games thats possible, but not MvC2:GeneraLight wrote:Maybe force 480i PS2 games to run in 480p then.bobrocks95 wrote:You're looking for GS Mode Selector, though because of the way most PS2 games are made, it doesn't have a high success rate. Those are lists of games that natively support 480p. With homebrew you can force it on some titles that don't natively support it, though as I said, there's problems with a ton of titles when you do that.Michael Ikonomidis wrote:Thanks for the replies, accroding to this list, with some games thats possible, but not MvC2:

MvC2 also is a good candidate for 240p. IRRC a member on here tried this a couple months ago, and outside of some character-select-screen icons, the scanlines lined up perfectly with the sprites. If you have an Extron interface than you could use the 240p "trick"
