Post by sjewkestheloon »

i've read somewhere about problames with this version frameskipping and having some sort of missile bug. can someone please explain these to me as i'm considering picking it up as it's far cheaper than any other version and i'm interested in giving it a real try.

If there's any bugs or problems with the Pal GC version, then they never bothered me.

It has no 60hz mode, and atari was like "whee just lets skip every 6th frame to maintain speed" It is not much noticable unless you played the Dreamcast version. If you have tho, it is. I guess the other NTSC ones should be fine as well.

The "missile bug" is that the homing lasers fire at one of the little pods of the 1st boss and not the boss itself. In any case Dreamcast version with VGA box = sexiest!

If you've never played the NTSC versions (like me) then you won't notice anything wrong with the game at all. It's absolutely fantastic.

I second this. Never played another version, don't notice a thing...

a bad shmup port is like, to quote dodgeball, 'watching a bunch of retads trying to hump a door knob'.

do devs not realise that a shit port might as well not be released?
