What, this has always been a thread about how jRPGs are a fusion of Ultima and Wizardry. That was the "innovative leap" the genre provided - the most simplified and streamlined systems of both for a speedy, easy game experience.
Do you know what you find at the end of any of these kinds of games?
That's right: Aliens.
We've come full circle people.
At the end of any of these games, you're gonna find some ruins of Tokyo and some tentacled nightmare goofing everything up. That's just how it is.
Life is just more interesting with Out Of Place Artifacts (OOPA) in it.
Though to slightly derail things a bit, I'm a bit sad sliders aren't as popular as they should be. A slider is a person who "slides" between dimensions. Which is far more feasible and realistic than an alien spending $100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 in order to fly over here and stick its finger up Jonny's butt... which is probably why it's not a meme.
