Shooting Love 20xx on Steam

Post by NickPalmerDegica »

Hey everyone, Degica is proud to announce that we will be releasing the entirety of Triangle Service's Shooting Love 200x compilation (rebranded 20xx) onto Steam, for PC gamers everywhere.

First released in 2009, this compilation included 4 fantastic games.

Shmups Skill Test:
Shmups Skill Test is a clever way to evaluate your shmup skills in the form of a "gamer age". Challenge and unlock shoot-’em-up-based minigames in a gauntlet of shmup nostalgia goodness. When it’s over, you’ll be given a score and gamer age. The younger your gamer age, the better! Bring up to three friends along for the ride and feel young (or old) again together.

MINUS ZERO:
MINUS ZERO is an abstract, minimalist shooter that focuses on a tried-and-true shoot-’em-up weapon: the lock-on laser. It’s shoot-’em-up purity: just you, your lock-on laser, and a whole bunch of enemies. As long as you continue to blast away at the waves of enemies, you’ll maintain invincibility, but if you lose track of your position amongst the explosions and neon glow, you’ll soon find that invincibility can be fleeting!

TRIZEAL Remix:
Transform or die. TRIZEAL Remix has classic shoot-’em-up style, refined and with depth under the surface. Transform your ship to switch between three distinct weapons: a wide shot, a narrow laser, and guided missiles. Upgrade your weapons enough and they’ll fire even when you have a different weapon selected! Strategically switch your weapons to devastate the varied enemy waves that TRIZEAL Remix throws at you. Shoot with intelligence!

EXZEAL:
A sequel that isn’t afraid to be different. EXZEAL is the follow-up to TRIZEAL Remix, but it’s much more than a simple rehash. Choose between multiple ships and specialize in each one’s weapon system. Will you focus on good old shooting, virtuously patient shot charging, or dangerous but powerful close-range attacks? In EXZEAL, it’s your choice.

Wave 1 of our Shooting Love launch will be Shmups Skill Test next week, and we'll also be launching a skills competition at the same time. Are you prepared to get Tested? Maybe you can win a signed poster! Good luck!

I can hear his orgasm echoing out of California.

I am excited at the prospect of finally playing Exzeal.

So it sounds like the parts are gonna launched separately instead of one bundle all at once...is this accurate?

Yes, but the launch discounts will be comparable to buying with the bundle discount once they are all out. So those that buy as they are released will get the same deal. We don't want anyone to feel betrayed with the bundle price.

Awesome, great package that deserves a wider audience! The skill test is ridiculously fun and throws in some neat retro homages. Still haven't found the quiz game :(

Exzeal suffers a bit with a memorise-or-die environmental hazard final stage that feels a bit at odds with the rest of the game.

Trizeal is brilliant though. Short medal chains and mix & match weapons means you can find your own way to play.

Already have them on 360 though so would like for a DRM release at some point.

This is good news. Gladly double dipp and support Triangle Service. Makes me wonder whats Fujino will work on or is already working on after this.

I finally got my age down to 25 today (significantly younger than my real age)! That game is fun, its great for a quick breather type play, too. If I just want to take a break from work for 10 minutes or so.

Hell yeah! Gonna have to wait for the whole bundle since I'm low on funds right now, but definitely gonna pick it up for the 'zeals and Minus Zero!

Degica, doing the Shmup gods work. Can't wait!

On the topic of the price, how much is the pack going to cost? I can't find anything on the price of the original releases, annoyingly enough.

Shooting Love 20XX on the 360 costs 20€ (Games on Demand, of course). Hopefully it'll be about the same.

I don't have final prices on the bundle, but it should be right around that for all 4.

Are the 4 packs going to be released as separate titles in Steam, or is it being released as Shooting Love 20XX and the modules are DLC-type content?

Both Shooting Love 200x and Ge-Sen Love Plus Pengo! on the Xbox 360 contain Shmups Skill Test. What is not clear is whether Ge-Sen Love Plus Pengo! contains a remixed version.

CombatZeal is exclusive to Ge-Sen Love Plus Pengo!

They will be released individually, and then they will have a Steam Bundle to buy them together. (Launch discounts and Bundle discount will be roughly the same, so you don't pay more for buying at launch than buying it all as a bundle later).

Man, I'm having a blast with these titles by the way. Shmups Skill Test and TRIZEAL are must owns in my opinion.

Also, click here to learn more about what to do to win a Fujino-san signed poster. Or a prerelease copy of TRIZEAL!

And please retweet if you can. I'm not going to be obnoxious about it, but every little bit of help sharing shmups with the world helps!

...Says the man selling these games. :v

But yeah, I can't wait to see the rest of the collection on Steam! I decided to give XIIZeal and DeltaZeal a try, and I'm enjoying them!

I promise, I am always honest in my personal opinion of games. I know I come off as biased, but I do have a lot more hours in SST than my job requires :P.

Also, Shmups Skill Test is NOW LIVE!

Make sure to check out the challenges and compete! You could win an early copy of TRIZEAL or a Fujino-san signed poster.

I was just joking! Apologies if I came off as rude.

And yay, this game is really fun! Except for the button mashing games. I have not honed my arcade-stick mashing skills.

I watched a run of the game before release, it looked pretty terrible. However, the game turned out to be okay after all, the Space Invaders wave and red orbs/buildings with random camera movement are a lot of fun, as well as Nice Bomb. Recycling's not half bad either.

Also, how does uploading replays to the leaderboards work? I don't see a replay uploaded for my run on them (screenshot), it uploaded the score and saved replay locally though and I don't believe I opted out of replay uploading at any point...

Pretty torn on playing the game "honestly" and the way it was meant to be played (without auto-fire) at the expense of my hands and doing average at best on the 'boards, or turning on autofire for comfort and competition and risking spoiling the challenge for myself.

Advance apology if this post ignites a 10-page heated debate.

Mash those buttons! The games that require it for a bit more edge are still short. Besides, for a good score you have to master non-shooting stages too - so even if "autofire is cheating" it's not an instant high score.
