Was playing this a bit recently. I'm not very good at it but I thought I'd start a table since there wasn't one.

Was not aware there was a Master System conversion.

MAME just found a US release of Majestic Twelve, maybe it's different.

Yeah, the only reason I know about it is because I remember seeing it in a magazine back in the day.

The SMS port has a "normal" mode where you select a path, meaning you only play half the stages. But you get the cattle mutilation bonus stages. "Advanced" gives you the full level set but removes the bonus stages for some reason.

It might not be worth including Advanced because the lack of bonus stages mean score is directly proportional to survival. But it is a much more challenging mode.

It's a pretty close port - smaller sprites, some special weapon effects downgrade and it's missing the final boss (uses the penultimate boss instead and switches in earlier bosses where it would normally appear).

Interesting. Do you know if the other ports by Domark (spectrum, c64, cpc, Amiga) behave the same way?

Andy Taylor was responsible for the spectrum, amstrad and SMS versions.

Paul Margrave did the 16-bit Amiga/ST versions.

Chris West and Warren Mills did the C64 one.

Strangely, the spectrum release does have credits staff for all these ports. I wonder if the SMS one is a souped-up version of the spectrum code (which plays like the advanced I guess, and without cattle).
