Shikigami no Shiro [PC] - voiceover dubbing progress

Post by cj iwakura »

This is a long shot, but we're at a loss, so here goes.

Some of you may know a few years back I did a fan translation of Shikigami no Shiro[PC].

I think it may have broken 100 downloads by now! Anyways, what you may not know is that I did auditions to dub the game.

Shikigami 1 has very, very little voicework. It's not like 2 and 3 where every line is dubbed, only battle clips are(i.e. taunts, bomb usages, death cries).

Some were okay(one or two were downright awful), but a few hit it out of the park.

Here's the stinger:

We have no idea where the voice files are.

These are the two biggest parts of the system files. If anyone has the game(or hell, needs access to it) and has an idea, feel free to let me know.

I suspect they may be in the .dat files, but I've had no luck so far.

Thanks! Gennojo is proud of you.

That's what I was afraid of(that it'd be some outdated programming), but hey, it's a start. I'll check with Esper(the programmer) and see what we can do, writing tools is his specialty if nothing else.

Thanks!

Someone at RHDN has cracked it, but for what it's worth, he says you're spot on, kane. Thanks! :D I'll be sure to post here if I get the voices running in game.

I REALLY need to find a new Shoujo / Fumiko, though. Everyone else is great, but let's just say the voices for them are... rough.

Great news! :D

Go apply this to your Shiki PC build and you have Kim's dub in-game.

KEEP THE ORIGINAL FILE. It's not perfect, some of his lines cut off and/or are barely audible, but it's a damn good start.

Mad props to DackR from RHDN, he figured out how to decompress and insert the voice clips.

I'll keep you posted with updates.

Oh boy, I'm geeking out here.

Dack added a vocal effect similar to the rest of the Shikigami 1 voices, and they no longer cut out. ('DISAPPEAR!' and 'GAH!' are a little low, but audible. Should be fixed soon.)

Gonna work on the rest tomorrow.

By the way, 'Mansae' and 'Aigo' are Korean, I deliberately left those intact.
