Sony PVM and PAL SNES

Post by Gallego76 »

I'm very new at this and I've connected everything but I get a squashed image with all games and the 24op test suite PAL

My Setup:

Sony PVM 14L4
retrogamingcables BNC to SCART
PAL SNES connected by RGB
SD2SNES

Image

What am I doing wrong??
even the PAL roms run squashed in the screen

Sorry if its been discussed a million times, I'm new to this site

Thanks

There is nothing wrong with your setup, this is how it would have looked back in the day as well.

yeah. nothing wrong at all. you can fix it by switching the console to 60hz and installing a switch in order to still be able to run pal games that wont boot in 60 hz.

um, like Terranigma.

That's 50 Hz for you.

NTSC is 240p. PAL is 288p. The PAL version of the games are the same resolution, so they get squished. It's the way PAL games typically were back then.
