GBS-8200 clarification.

Post by werk91 »

I just bought the cga2vga scaler. Main usage will be PSX games on a NTSC PS2 console.
There's two things I need clarified before the board arrives :

1. Power supply

I've learned that 5V 2A is the best option but my question is what about the tip size ?
Do I need the common 5.5mm * 2.1mm or the smaller 3.5mm connector ?

2. The RGBS input

I am planning on running with the component cable at first but I want to utilise the RGB signal in the long term.
Since the board takes VGA in ( and needs a CSYNC stripped signal if I am not wrong?) I was thinking this will do the job
for my PS2 :

Expensive but saves me having to add a Sync Strike in my chain..

And finally if I go with this setup will there be any gain in getting a Luma Scart PS2 cable or just any standard one will do ?

Can't wait to get some shmupping going as its been a while ! :O
