Hi All,
I've had 0 problems for the several months I've had my XRGB Mini, up until now.
I had my Wii U hooked up to the XRGB and noticed it was displaying at 720p for some reason, so I switched it to 1080p. Now my TV says "Mode not supported on external device".
I've pressed the reset button on the controller (reset to 480p), tried the component output on another system, shut it off 20 times (both the TV and mini).
All the XRGB says is mode not supported, even though I'm changing it on the remote. Mind you I have no clue if it is changing cause all i see is the black screen on my TV with the message.
I have a Samsung LED 3D TV if that helps
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Thanks everyone.

Re: XRGB Mini Display help!
Have you tried connecting the Wii U directly to your TV? From what I've heard some A/V outputs on these units are going bad.
Also, make sure you've set it to 1080/60p and not 1080/50p.

My problem isn't the Wii U, it's the XRGB not displaying on my TV anymore no matter what I do

Oh, I see. Could it be that you changed it to DVI mode? You should try it on a different TV if possible.

YES! It worked. Switched to another TV, the setting was stuck on a 50p setting which apparently my other tv couldn't support. Thanks for the help!

Re: XRGB Mini Display help!
The real question is: why are you pushing 720p or 1080p signals through an XRGB-mini?mrwasi wrote:I had my Wii U hooked up to the XRGB and noticed it was displaying at 720p for some reason, so I switched it to 1080p.
- The XRGB-mini is a fantastic device for 240p/480i signals (RGB preferred over YPbPr (YCbCr))
- The XRGB-mini is a meh-to-OK device for 480p signals.
- For signals > 480p the XRGB-mini is ... note that there are no recommended settings for resolutions above 480p on the XRGB wiki - contemplate why that might be.
- The (apparent) intended use for the two HDMI inputs was connecting an Xbox 360 and/or PS3 console set to 480p for playing arcade/retro ports (to take advantage of the digital signal - no A/D conversion required).

Re: XRGB Mini Display help!
My reciever already has 3 hdmi inputs.
1 for my media player
1 for my ps3
1 for my xrgb.
My xrgb is my main gaming hub (minus the ps3 )
I have had no problems using the xrgb for my wiiu until i set the res to 1080 at 50p which should have been 60p.
My tv wouldn't let me swith it to the main default for some reason so i used another tv to do so.
I understand what the xrgb is for but i need more hdmi outputs. The xrgb helps me with this problem.

Re: XRGB Mini Display help!
A multi-port HDMI switch would not add 24 ms of lag to all of your Wii U games like the XRGB-mini does (which adds to whatever else is happening in your receiver and TV).

Re: XRGB Mini Display help!
If he doesn't notice any lag with the XRGB-Mini, why even bother? I haven't had any kind of issues with input lag along with my Framemeister so I don't give a damn as long as it performs well.

Re: XRGB Mini Display help!
You can use the pass-through mode to remove the lag. I'd recommend that, there's really no benefit to processing 720p or 1080p signals with the Mini.
