I recently got a PVM-14L5. I love it, it's been working beautifully for a few weeks now.
Unfortunately, however, today it seems to have stopped working. I transported it to and from a location in my car, and when I brought it back home, it seems to be broken.
When I power it on, the screen and control lights turn on, but the screen is a bueish-white, and it increases in brightness steadily until eventually just shutting down and turning off alltogether.
What could be causing this, is there any way to fix it?

Re: Broken PVM-14L5?
I'm no expert, but that sounds like what happens when the gain on the flyback transformer is set too high. There are usually two little knobs on the flyback, one for focus and one for gain, and they usually have a little bit of paint on them to show where the default location from the factory is. If it looks like it's been turned, you could move it back and see if it helps. I haven't done anything like this with PVMs but I messed with the gain on a late model HD trinitron, and the gain knob was VERY sensitive. It doesn't take much at all to knock it out of place and set the gain too high.
As always be extremely careful when working inside stuff like that. I'd try and hunt down a service manual to see what the proper procedure for making that adjustment is.
